Pours nearly black with a lasting off-white head.
Roasty chocolate aroma that is echoed in the flavor.
Chalky and bitter with a dry finish.
Beershine (1440), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jun 17, 2008 Bottle from my awesome cousin. Opaque black-brown with tan head. Robust but mellow chocolate aroma. Nice, rich, appealing, and clean. High level of carbonation explodes in the mouth, fizzy. Smooth, clean, slightly lacto-sweet at first then mellows into intense chocolatey stout experience. Except for the fizz is an impressive Bali stout. Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 27, 2008 Slightly muddy dark brown. Somewhat metallic aroma but with a chocolatey accent. Kind of fudgey with toasted peanuts. A bit fizzy; quite a bit actually. This detracts from the fudgey-chocolate palate. While it doesn’t have much hop, by no means does it come off as sweet - the yeastiness imparts a certain astringency and there’s a vague sense of woodiness coming from somehwhere. decaturstevo (1278), decatur, Tennessee, USA Apr 28, 2008 btl shared by tronraner. Aroma is light coffee. A dark brown pour with faomy tan head. Flavor just like aroma with a half way decent bitter finish. Foamy and thin. A very drinkable beer for me. thanks Joe tronraner (1434), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Apr 15, 2008 Bottle, courtesy of TexasJeep, shared at the April Get Together. Pours ruby black with soapy tan head. The aroma is roast and caramel with something that reminds me of heavy cream. The flavor is very roasty with smooth burnt notes. It leaves a nutty aftertaste. This really isn’t that bad at all.
