2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap at Storm, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Nose brings out toasted malt, feint toasted caramel and metallic notes.
Flavour is exactly the same. Fairly bland but well-balanced beer. Drinkable but boring.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap. Pours a dark copper color with moderate head. Aromas of nuts and malts. Flavors as advertised: nuts, toasted malts and grassy hops. Smooth and creamy. Easy to quaff.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sampled during VCBW 2012 at the Salt Building in Vancouver pouring a slightly hazy golden color with a finger of white head that leaves some spotty lacing. Mild grassy aroma with lots of caramel and some hints of smoke and peat. Taste is a bold caramel malty sweetness with a grassy and smoky finish. Light to medium body with mild carbonation. A decent representation of the style.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: NOV 27, 2011 On tap at clothing store in Gastown. Friends of friends. Light head on dark amber. Thin scent. Read other ratings to make sure it was right one. Everone is bang on with creamy toffee and butterscotch. Ligh thops but seems more nice amber than Scottish. Just a hint of smoke and peat perhaps in the finish.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at St. Augustine’s. The most I can say is that it did meet the style. Was not greatly drinkable, was black with a minimal white head, and a little smoke.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap at the place i was at. Thick white head. The taste is quite sweet and caramelly, bready, decent spice, creamy! Fresh doughy bread aroma, light hop. Crap review but im watching live jazz so it matters not. Overall pleasant and boring.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draught at WaaZuBee Café, Vancouver (nitro)
Hazy golden color, with the obvious creamy head. The aroma is quite creamy and buttery, light cookies. The low carbonation allows for a smooth mouthfeel; nevertheless the flavor doesn’t go much beyond some light toffee; bland hopping. Uninteresting.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This is the localist of the local beers available to me and I’ll admit to have had a few hundred pints. It’s tasty... but not spectacular. I find it to be under-carbed and a bit on the watery edge. Still, it goes well with a sausage, and I’ll probably have a few hundred more.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Grainy malts and mild butterscotch in the nose. Opaque light brown body is topped by a shy, large bubbled, off white head that recedes rapidly to ring. Butterscotch is less apparent in the flavour but husky grainy quality is strong. Mild bitterness. Medium light body with somewhat low carbonation and slick texture. Sampled on tap at Wazubees in Summer 2007.
