Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest ’08. Brown amber with white head. Quite malty sweet with chocolatey notes, almost cocoa like, but then delivering a hoppy bitterness witha grape like fruitiness. An odd beer but quite well done, somarks for doing something different.

Bottle, courtesy of Mes_and_Sim.
Amber with a thin but lasting white head. Bready malt, orangey hops, caramel and cocoa in the nose. Slightly watery and soapy with caramel, malt, dusty cocoa and again orangey hops in the end.

Bottle. Brown with a reasonable amount of carbonation. Left lots of sediment which was off putting. Some nuttiness but overall not very pleasant.

A Mes rate: 50cl bottle from the Bottle Stop.
Rich amber colour with a relatively short lived bubbly head. Odd but inoffensive chalky cocoa aroma. Soapy flavour but once it passes it leaves some pleasant bitter chocolate malt and some very slight bread / yeast notes. Think cheap foil wrapped Christmas tree chocolate and you are pretty much there. Lick of hops for a bitter finish. Restrained (almost bland), not quite elegant but interesting enough and well worth a sample.

again bottle conditioned and too fizzy, ruby coloured, strong fruity nose, with slightly sour notes.
