Bottled, thanks Bov! Pitch black, brown head. Rich licorice and tar aroma. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Green pepper, tar and chocolate. Soothing and warming, sweet and rich. Mid bitter finish with distinct roasty components.

Bottle from Fork & Bottle, Zurich. Pours almost black with a persistant creamy beige head. Delicate smoke blending with caramel molasses. In the mouth sweeter malts dominate. Alright.

Pitch black color with generous brown compact head. Aroma of roasted malts, firewood, smoke. Full bodied, with a lovely smooth mouthfeel; roasted malt flavor, some dark chocolate, some smoke; layered feelings; quite strong bitterness; it never becomes too ashy, and it’s well balanced.
Excellent.

Bottle. Pours pitch black with a medium tanned head leaving nice lacing. Aroma is tar, licorice, ash, roasted malts, campfire and smoke. Taste has licorice, smoke, roasted malts and a soft bitter finish. Lingering smoke and roasted malts in the aftertaste. Medium to full body and medium carbo.

Bov (9050) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - JUL 28, 2013
courtesy of Toni Flükiger - black beer with a robust head retention; a solid smokey aroma with notes of ashtray, black licorice and red fruity hops; full-bodied and very tasty; very dry and hoppy, long smokey finish with more notes of ashes and black cherries- powerful and subtle at the same time - over wonderful !
