2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Grima (1855) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - JUL 5, 2011
Into the glass, a strong golden yellow beer pours with coarsely porous foam. Smells strong hoppy, very spicy. Starts very hoppy bitter, bitter but not excessive. The center part remains constant hoppy-bitter, very recent. In the finish, the beer is very hoppy bitter, with a medicinal, herb-like flavor, which disturbs the whole thing a little.

500 ml bottle in Germany at home thanks to shrubber85. Pours a clear gold color with medium white head. Aroma is hops malt and some smoke. Taste is kind of strange, some glue and malt I think. Palate is bland wallpaper paste. It is not a bad beer but it just tastes funny.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 crossovert (4536) - Wisconsin, USA - MAY 9, 2011
Found a mix-pack of these beers at Penny.
500ml bottle MHB: 16.11.11.
It pours a standard Pils gold with a foamy white head that leaves some pretty nice lacing.
The smell is sharp and herbal, with a bit of dankiness and some alcoholic fruitiness. A light bready malt presence rounds it out.
The flavor is pleasant enough. The malt is rather thin, producing a bit of watery bread taste with a hint of sweetness and a hint of daicetyl in the inish. But the hops are ample, in the North-German style, with plenty of herbal bitterness, though not a huge ton.
It will probably satisfy a lot of American palates, to me though it is just barely above average.

Bottle courtesy of steptin - thanks! Golden color, thin white head. Aroma of lemon and straw. Taste is smooth, bitter throughout, with odd chocolate finish, never tasted a finish like that before. Nothing to compare.
