COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Biergenuss.

Bottle, june 19th 2013. Hazy copper body, huge beige head. Heavy rye aroma, with banana, caramel, anis. Taste dominated by wheat and rye malt, wiith spices and yeast, honey. Thinner than the taste suggest. Unbalanced bitter malty finsh, with a lasting rye aftertaste. This is a really strange one.

Lovely reddish hue with a fast froth but quickly disappearing head. Gumy bear lollies and some sourness and a bit syrupy. Not bad though.

500ml bottle, 5.4 % abv, from the brewery’s Schatzkiste available at Systembolaget, Luleå. Via Gaute and shared with Finn. Red-brown body with a wheat haze. Beige diminishing head. Poor lacing. Dark wheat, sweet caramel and dried fruits on the nose. Flavours of caramel sweetness, ripe banana and wheat. Mostly sweet malty all the way. Accepted, does not stand out in any way (Tromsø, 29.05.2013).

Brown coloured beer with a medium head. Aroma is caramel and malt. Flavor is rye, bit spicy, which suits the beer well. Medium palate.

Dobre piwo przypominajace dunkelweizena. Ciemno-bursztynowe z odcieniem brazu.

Bottle @ Home, courtesy of Nils. Pours slightly hazy dark brown with a creamy offwhite head. Aroma of sweet malt, rye, caramel, sweet ripe bananas, light spice. Flavor is malt, caramel, banana, sweet fruit, little citrus. Medium body, soft carbonation, sweet finish. 260513

Looks good; solid off-white foam holds at almost an inch thick. Body a sparkling (?) ruddy chestnut with streaming, fine carbonation. Lipsmacking, sultry, dessert-esque nose just exudes caramelised bananas, fresh baked banoffee pie and biscuity rich, sweet malt with just a vague spicy note. Well spiced palate. Rye is evident and it is deeply phenolic. Lean in body but foamy in feel. Quite watery overall. Banana is a backdrop. Good length but it is still just shy and timid. All in the background. Like drinking watery herbal tea, not quite there. The aroma is a winner, but it is a let down for flavour. Meh! (50cL, BB 04/10/13, Cellarbrations Carlisle)

0.5l bottle from OB Sydney. Looks like a Schneider Weisse Original with a cloudy brown body and average-sized cream-white head for the style (if you consider this to be a wheat beer). Nose has strong over-ripe bananas and caramel with a softer clove-like spiciness and fresh rye bread in there as well. Flavour is medium sweet with a subtle dry smokiness to the finish and a light bitterness. Palate is spritely with a medium body. I consider this beer to be a satisfactory dunkelweizen but no more.
