Sample from bottle. Very dark brown to black colour, moderate beige head. Mild roasty and malty notes in both aroma and flavour, clearly drinkable but not very exciting.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: NOV 12, 2012 A decent schwarzbier fro Germany. Poured deep brown, some reddish hues with backlighting. Faint head faded quickly, but left a fair amount of lacing on the glass. Mild roast grain flavor, but no aftertaste.Seems a bit more watery than some of the others I’ve had.Still a good example of the style, and nice to have a dark, cold winter day.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Black color with a minimal head and lacing. Mild burnt and roasted malts for the aroma. Tastes of a bit of straw, burnt, and roasted malts. Medium to thin body. Very smooth, not very astringent or overly sweet like many other German beers of the style. Medium carbonation. Has more of a craft-like flavor than other schwarzbiers.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
500 ml bottle from Jumbo, Santiago de Chile Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a medium off-white head that diminishes quickly. Aroma is malty and earthy with notes of bitter chocolate, milk, vanilla and toasted cocoa beans. Very by-the-book Schwarzbier by this Baltic German brewery. Taste is slightly sweet, mellow and elegant with some chocolate and milk hints. Body is pretty big for the style, viscous and with low carbonation. This is a solid dark lager but lacks differentiation.
