COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

18/03 A 0.5 l bottle. It poured slightly hazy dark red to brown body with smaller ocher head. Coffee and some slight smoked peat nose in aroma. Fine coffee malt showing, dry, slightly sourish, but showed also some caramel and roasted sugar, slightly sweetish then. Light in body with shorter dry coffee finish. Some smoked malt are showing up here, again. Fine, but somehow misses something I can’t tell to be even better, and not only body.

Pale brown coloured, small to medium sized off-white head, notes of coffee and smoke in the nose. Roasted malt, caramel and dark chocolate with notes of smoke and meat. Bitterish finish. Quite thin brew.

Bottle from the Kaiser’s near Brauhaus Mitte, Berlin. Poured a dark red-brown body with a sightly off white head. Coffee in the nose, dominating it and owning it and sticking in the taste as well where it’s joined by some light caramelly hints, some lacticity and maybe light hops. A good Schwarzbier.

Bottle @ Flensburg. Pours dark brown with a handsome small creamy lasting head. Vague roast, a bit of butter, ashy notes and some chocolate. Smooth. Also cold coffee and overall quite ashy which takes it down a notch. Solid

Really good Schwarzbier. Dark red in colour. For a Schwarzbier, the taste stays long in the mouth

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a big frothy off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt. Roasted malt in the tasting department, lingering medium bitter aftertaste, hint of liquorice and smoke, good one
