COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

500 ml bottle. Great artwork on the bottle. Pours dark brown with medium brownish head. Roasty malt aroma. Tastes roasty malty, but a tad watery. I would like it better if it were a bit sweeter.

50cl bottles on repeated instances 2013-12/2014, Latest bb07/2015. Had this newly revived (danke Nordmann entrepreneurs) and northernmost of Hanseatic Schwarzbiere down as dull and old-school syrup sweet on its first instance, but they seem to have tweaked the recipe to foreground the Tradition hops quite a bit, making this well-balanced in terms of coffee bean roast meeting sedate toasted caramels, some cocoa powder, cut off by dry, shrubby grassland hops. Lovely velvet creamy mouthfeel cushions the already faint punching power. Good commodified entry-level Schwarz, the former pride of the GDR.

Bottle 0,5 l, Marktkauf Getränkemärkte, Cottbus, Germany. Ciemnobrązowe, mętnawe piwo z jasnobeżową, puszystą ale szybko opadającą pianą i aromatem suszonych owoców. W smaku łagodne, lekko palone, ze słodkawym owocowym posmakiem i wytrawnym finiszem.

UPDATED: OCT 11, 2014 Pours a deep brown, almost black colour, with a light brown head. Nice malty aroma of cocoa, toffee, toast and nuts. No hops noticable on the nose. Taste is medium bitter, with a nice coffee-like finish. One of the best Schwarzbiers I’ve had so far, a prime example of the style.
