COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Obfita, drobnoziarnista piana. Ciemne, bursztynowe refleksy. Aromat g?ównie suszonych owoców, ?liwki i wi?nie w czekoladzie. W smaku troch? czekolady, troch? owoców. Delikatnie wodniste, niezbyt wyraziste. Wysycenie stosunkowo niskie, goryczka niska. Aromat ciekawy, reszta rozczarowuj?ca.

In short: roasty dark beer.
Pours dark copper with nice frothy light tan head. Moderate head retention, some lacing. Roasty, licorice, malty nose. Medium body, average carbonation, little crispy texture. Taste is malty, roasty, licorice. Alcohol noticed. Enjoyable.

Cerveja escura, com sabor arredondado e macio, suave, cremoso. Aroma de café, e chocolate amargo. Espuma cremosa, de boa persistência. Cerveja bem equilibrada. Baixo drinkability.

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. caramel and a hint of licorice in the aroma. Malty sweet, roasty caramelly flavor with a hint of licorice. Almost sugary. Low on carbon. Sticky mouthfeel.

Almost black, no head. Weak aroma of caramel, dark fruits, some roasted malt. Taste sweet, caramel, some chocolate. Low carbonation makes it sticky and almost undrinkable. If it is Baltic porter it is one of the worst I tried.

It pours almost opaque dark brown; the head is beige and foamy. The aroma has notes of: toffee, coffee, vanilla, and dark rye bread. The taste is medium light bitter and sweet; the notes from the aroma carry through with chocolate. The palate is medium bodied with light carbonation and a long roasty finish. Overall, I just learned what stark-bier means - cool.

T: -sweet chocolate and licorish upfront -slightly nutty -slight caramel -well carbonated -roasty coffee on the back-end O: I thought this is like the Stralsunder Traditionsbock, which is also brewed by them, but the Stark-Bier is noticeably sweeter. Good one

Zlotta (1907) - Hagen, GERMANY - MAY 7, 2015
0,5 l bottle from a local grocery store, best before 23/10/2016. Clear, dark brownish red to black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, tan head. Intense aroma of dark chocolate and coffee as well as dark ripe fruits like plums, cherries and blackcurrant. Sweetish taste with lots of roasted coffee beans and dark chocolate as well as blackcurrant, plums and dark cherries. Short, coffeish and slightly bitter finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Pleasant and tasty beer, lacking a bit of body and power. Still good.
