COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

7,5% bottle in steel can, thanks to Grzegorz my man! Sweet, smokey aroma. Thick, small-bubbled beige head. Taste fruity, smoky, malty. Very strong taste with a good bready finish.

500 ml bottle sampled@RBNAG 2009, Vatlandsvåg. Dark brown body with a small, but fine beige head. Complex aroma of rye bread, dark fruit and coffee. Flavor is light roasted, dark malt, some caramel, coffee, dry fruit and bitter chocolate. No alcohol flavor. A complex and very nice beer.

Half-litre bottle: best before 7th June 2014. Poured (twice) into a leffe badged stemmed goblet at home on 8th Dec 2012. Really deep, dark brown/ruby: almost black, on top a tan head that faded a bit too swiftly for my liking. Loads of chocolate in the nose and taste, Camp Coffee too (remember that stuff?): also reminded me of a rich, creamy Dandilion and Burdock sort of flavour (who remembers that stuff as well?). Now add a liquorice stick to the mix and some hops to give a slightly bitter undertone and you’re half way to tasting and smelling what I did during my review (on my own). I thought the alcohol well hidden with the flavours masking the 7.5% ABV nicely: all in all, a very pleasant brew. One of the best German beers I’ve had for some time.

"das Bier der Gerechten"; limited edition - pours a very dark brown colour with some ruby notes, the whole thing under a little, brown-tainted foam; nice lacing; the aroma is solidly toasted, rich with notes of ashes, black chocolate and some caramel in the background; sweet with a medium to full malt body; a touch of acidity gives it an interesting profile; long aftertaste of roasted malts and pralines with a touch of alcohol - ok, it may be expensive but this is a good beer

500ml bottle. Shared by Tranquillity - huge thanks!
Jet black, tight tan head. Raw and waxy aroma, slightly smoky too, and a bit bready. Smooth palate, gentle carbonation. Rich burnt and roasty palate, well balanced; light on the hop front, but with rich coffee, a sweet light espresso. No hint of 7.5%. Some plums in there too. The late finish is coffee, and lasts a long time.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of KimJohansen. Pours a clear and handsome reddish brown with a rough, beige head. Very hard roasted malt aroma. Full-bodied, sweetish hard roasted malt accents with almost coffee-like accents and vanilla. Lightly malt bitter finish. Lovely. 090209
