Draft at pinnochios. Pours hazy yellow with a nice sized head. The aroma has some nice vinegar notes, lemon, minimal quad qualities. The taste has a nice tartness up front that finished with a little bit of dark fruit notes. Very cool brew.

A very complex beer that hits you in waves. Upfront it’s a quad, then the cherry/grape/wine taste comes through, then the tartness of a sour, and finishes dry. Enjoyable.

From a bottle tastes like apples, cranberries. Sweet and tart. Smells like apples and plum. medium body, light carbonation, light frothy head. Opaque medium brown.

Bottle. Pours hazy amber with average, creamy off-white head; short retention and spare lacing. Aroma is pears, oranges, cookie and bread malts, spicy and floral hops, caramel, and light toast. Flavor is sweet malts forward with good supporting fruit esters, fresh dough, red wine, light floral hops, and faint oak; dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with a medium, creamy off-white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is brown sugar, cherries, plums, and grapes with cookie malt, light peppery alcohol and vinous, oak notes. Flavor is vinous red wine, oak, cookie malt, plum and cherry esters with faint hops and bitterness with a sweet finish. Full body and medium carbonation.

Keg at The Pony Bar UES, NYC. Pours clear gold with a slight, white foam head. Aroma of sweet berries, light tangy malts. Medium to big sweet flavor with some tangy berries, caramel, golden raisins, bread. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with further tangy berries, caramel, bread, mild honey and apple. It’s a bit boozy at times but not bad for 11%.

Pour on tap at the Denver Rare Beer Tasting 2012, dark reddish brown pour with tan slightly off white head, aroma brought notes of sweet cherry, vanilla, medicine, some dark fruits, toffee, molasses, caramel notes, touch of wine, slight tart notes with some oak as well, red fruits, slight funk that mixes oddly with the sweetness. Taste is a mix of sweet vanilla, oak, grape, vanilla, cherry, some odd lemony tart notes mixing into slight dark fruits with some dark sugars including molasses and toffee, finishing sweet, very slight tart note. Didn’t mix quite well for me.

750ml shared by some generous soul at the DC tasting. The wine barrels actually complement and mellow the whole beer out. Sweet, almost excessively sweet. Honey tinged Barleywine. Unique offering.

750mL provided by noodleuser. Thanks! This poured a really cloudy copper-orange color with a small wispy white head. Some notes of tea, vanilla, light fruits. Interesting brew.

75cl bottle, thanks noodleuser. Hazy dark amber body, small off-white head. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, spicy, some toffee, light alcohol. Taste is moderately sweet, sour, caramel, some alcohol. Medium-full body, low carbonation, light acidity.
