Solid opaque black with an off-white head and very good lacing.
Aroma of toasted biscuit malt, smokey caramel and a little coffee.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 DocLock (6774) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 5, 2012
Draft at Craft. Pours dark black with brown head. Nosi is roasty pumpernickel bready malt, mild hops, fruit, cacao. Tastes very rich and complex, with an up-front dark malty and cacaoey flavor, then the fruity notes and hops hitting, but the malt always takes the forefront. This one is delicious, and there is no clashing going on like sometimes happens with black IPAs.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 rosenbergh (4653) - Helsinki, FINLAND - SEP 2, 2012
Draught at the Barcade, New York, NY.
Black colour with small tan head.
Mild malty aroma with liquorice and sweetness.
Mild malt, mild liquorice and mild hops in flavour.
Hmm... dunno... drinkable but easy. Schwarzbier is more describing than Kölsch (or even Black Kölsch?). Very drinkable.
