This uniquely American beer offers a crisp, medium-body with a light amber color. It is assertively hopped with Pacific Northwest Cascades for a firm bitterness and delightfully floral aroma.

This is one of my favorite pale ales and also one of my favorite beers. It is a consistently high quality brew. It contains more flavors than a typical pale ale without crossing in to IPA territory. The taste and finish is dry, clean and crisp.

Draft sample at Cherry Blossom Beer & Wine fest, light coppery-amber color with white head. Aroma notes of pale malt and grassy/citrus hops. Taste adds caramel, pine and some herbal notes. Light body, moderate-low carbonation, dry with lingering pine/citrus hop bitterness. Nice everyday pale.

I enjoy this beer with every sip I take. It’s one of the cleanest-smoothest beers that I have sampled. Something about the water that Stoudts uses seems to give all it’s beer a crisp taste and smooth finish. This is one of their lighter beers. Good for daytime, beach, or for in between darks. Aroma is of hops and honey. Tastes semi-sweet with a medium hoppy flavor. Darker orange-light copper color, a bit hazy. A good one to throw into the mix if bringing different kinds of beer in the cooler.

12 oz bottle. Pours deep golden with tall, long-lasting, fluffy white head. Aroma is of herbal hops, bready malt and some caramel. Body is medium and crisp. Herbal hops, pale malt and ripe pears fill the mouth. Finish is long and dry. Average session brew.

Golden beer almost amber, hazy. Nice size foamy head propped up by a hardy carbonation. Dry malt aroma similar to a pils, slightly hopped. Dry malty bill with hints of being toasted. Biscuits and butter are in there too. Balance hop taste but not over powering. Medium body beer that’s nicely balanced. I think in my view of APA’s this should be a little more hopped up.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 11/11/2014. Pours fairly crystal clear deep gold color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange zest, light caramel, toast, biscuit, floral, grass, light pine, and floral/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with well balances citrus/floral hops and pale/bready malt sweetness; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange zest, floral, grass, light pine, light caramel, light toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange zest, floral, grass, light caramel, light toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and robustness of citrus/floral hops and moderate pale malt sweetness; with a nice crisp malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with no warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice and pleasant pale ale style. Good balance of citrus/grassy hops and moderate pale malt sweetness; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a nice looking slightly pale hazy orange color with some light descending streams of golden yellow rippling through the beer along the sides. The head had a nice one finger white foaminess that displayed a nice beauty to show a super nice foamy rockiness over top of the beer glass. The smell was intricate through some nice piney to slightly spicy features to mark their turf underneath my nose. The taste had a nice full sweet to bitter pine blended very nicely with a light citrus sweet to bitter hoppiness. There was a super nice citrusy somewhat spicy aftertaste and a dry finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was sharp but delicately woven into the blend of the intricacies of the body. Overall, what a surprise to find such a great APA from this little known brewery in Eastern PA. This is well worthy of having again.
