Tap at Kloby’s. pours clear tawny with a small, fizzy and bubbly off-white head, short retention with light, sticky lacing. Aroma is German melanoidin malt dominant with dates and figs, light alcohol notes, spicy Noble hops and a clean lager character. Flavor is sweet German malt with light spicy hops and medium-light bitterness, somewhat accentuated by the alcohol notes, dark fruit notes and a sweet finish. Medium-full body and light carbonation.

Surprising malty sweetness. Would have liked a bit more hops. Little lacing with chestnut color. A bit watery. It was okay.

25oz bottle lurking in the back of the refrig for several months. Nice color, not much head. Nose more of hops than malt, not what I expected from a bock. Not as smooth as I expected. All in all, an OK bock. I guess. Maybe I was expecting a dopplebock kind of thing.

Rich, toffee heavy bock, lots of dark fruit, bit of graham cracker. Finish is very minerally and lightly bitter, just a touch astringent.

A nice enough dark bock. Nose of sweet malts. Dark almost chestnut, small head, good lacing. Taste consistent with nose ... sweet dark malts, caramel, touch maybe of coffee, none of the intensity of a double bock, but quite enjoyable.
