COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A re-visitation of the original Stoudt’s German-style lager. This beautiful Dunkel dark style lager is reminiscent of the monk style bock beers. Very malty, full bodied, bottom fermented lager that might just incline you to search for a goblet to drink it from.

From the tap poured a brown color with a good amount of head. Sweet malty light hoppy flavor with a lingering finish.

25oz bottle lurking in the back of the refrig for several months. Nice color, not much head. Nose more of hops than malt, not what I expected from a bock. Not as smooth as I expected. All in all, an OK bock. I guess. Maybe I was expecting a dopplebock kind of thing.

Rich, toffee heavy bock, lots of dark fruit, bit of graham cracker. Finish is very minerally and lightly bitter, just a touch astringent.

Draft @ BT. Dark pour with some head. Fruity, toffee, raisins, and sweet malt flavors, some yeast notes.

A nice enough dark bock. Nose of sweet malts. Dark almost chestnut, small head, good lacing. Taste consistent with nose ... sweet dark malts, caramel, touch maybe of coffee, none of the intensity of a double bock, but quite enjoyable.
