| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 28, 2008 Thanks again to the wife. Merry Christmas. Malty Aroma, very clear in the glass with a reddish copper color. Tastes dry like scotch with a mild burn. This ones a little interesting to me. The alcohol isnt as well hidden as I expected. lots of grapefruit flavor in there. Piney and earthy, but yet somewhat sweet. The more I drink the better I like it. More of these would be OK with me right about now. 502Flavors (617), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 24, 2008 12 oz into pint glass. Great clear amber pour with a frothy white head that leaves nice lace. Sweet (but not at all too sweet) doughy hoppy aroma thats very nice. The flavor is very similar with a bit of alcohol, but only enough to balance the beer -- superbly easy going for 10.6. Im so surprised right now to see this high of an abv. I was expecting it to be a well hidden 8 percent. Anyways, this is a creamy with medium to minimal carbonation. Overall: this is a really solid IIPA that is so easy going that I would be scared getting a 4/6/whatever pack of it. BeerFanDan17 (610), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA

Pours hazy burnt orange with white head. Good lacing. Aroma is hops, graipfruit, citrus, pine and sweet malt. Flavor is hops, citrus, sweet malt, and booze. Mouthfeel is thick and sticky. Alcohol really comes thru as beer warms up. Best to have this one cold as I enjoyed the first half of my glass better than the last. mnurda (434), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 17, 2008 Bottle... thanks to either John or Dave... not sure which! Slightly hazy orange pour with big bubbly off-white head. Good lacing. I think this might have been a little less than fresh. Sweet and hoppy, with notes of orange peel, a good bit of malt, both earthy and astringent notes... but maybe it was just the high booze content. Definitely tasted boozy. Surprisingly thin palate for such a high-alcohol beer.
