Commercial Description:
Stoudt's Double IPA is a strong, full-bodied ale with an intense hop character and deep golden color. This unusual brew is characteristic of the newly recognized style of extremely hoppy and malty ales of American origin. The Double IPA is our strongest beer with an alcohol of over 10% abv and bitterness of more than 75 IBU's. Multiple kettle hop additions and generous dry hopping contribute to the powerful yet smooth and fragrant hop character of this beer. 10% abv.

Bu au Mondial 07. Blonde un peu foncée, peu de collet. Arome d’houblon faible et peu amère. Goût d’houblon sucré, peu fruité, pas tellement amère.

12oz. bottle - pours dark, cloudly orange with a nice white head leaving thick lacing in the glass. Orange aroma, with yeast, and something candy’ish that I can’t quite put my finger on really. Spice as well. Good malt character as well, balancing and smoothing out the hops, while still allowing them to remain dominant and intense. Flavour is remarkably smooth for a dIPA, especially one with a 10.6% ABV. Full bodied, with a creamy and thick mouthfeel. Awesome beer from a great brewer.

Hooooooops. Great head. Stayed strong for most of the life of the glass. Very sticky. Leaving traces of the head all the way down the glass. Awesome flavour. Totally great hop presence. A very very slight haze. I love it.

Pours golden with thick white head. Hoppy and citrus aroma. Taste is very smooth with strong hops. Hides the alcohol very well.

Pours with a perfect, thick white head and golden color. Looks absolutely beautiful in the glass even before you drink it. Aroma is of bursting hops with citrus and a little alcohol. I might have it too cold, but its so tasty I don’t want to wait. Strong hops in the taste with a little bit of malt to smooth it out. A really good DIPA that kicks your but with flavor, aroma, and alcohol. This was the beer style that I was looking for when I thought I had gone as far as i could with IPA’s. It gives you all that bursting hops flavor and a good kick in the butt because of the strength. Just a wonderful beer from a great brewery.

Okay aroma, solid color with a thick viscosity. Taste is sweet malts, with strong and perhaps overpowering hops. Overall I thought it was good, but the bitterness wasn’t jiving with the rest of the beer.
