cewldre (268), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Nov 27, 2006 Bottle: Pours a golden color with a slightly off white head. A smell a hint of citrus and maybe some caramel smell in there. Taste is a nice alcholic taste, but fits in very well. The hops are noticeable, but the malt does seem to compliment the hops nicely. It is smooth and hides its alcohol well. GriffinAvenue (395), Winchester, Massachusetts, USA Nov 25, 2006 Draft. Copper, oak in color with light head. Compelling, inviting hoppy scent with taste that hints you from the jump. Two-part taste: tangy, malty initial taste balanced against a hoppy, alcohol-driven following. Very nice. tobias (154), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Nov 20, 2006 12oz bottle: pours teh color of freshlu polished copper. not very much head. citrus honey apricot in the nose. flavor is sweet caramelly malt. peaches and apricot dipped in honey. some ctirus and pineapple. big body. bitterness is lack for an imperial ipa, but it is still a great smooth drinkable beer with well hidden alcohol. muteant (9), USA does not count Nov 20, 2006 An amazing beer. Nothing outlandish about it, just a ridiculously solid ale that represents exactly what I expect from a brew. funkralicious (2), USA does not count Nov 18, 2006 I really really enjoyed this beer. A strong, but not overstated hop flavour with enough malt to create a full body. One of the more delicious IPAs i’ve ever had nimbleprop (819), SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA Nov 8, 2006 Poured a murky copper orange with a foamy, soapy white head. Extremely hoppy aroma, citrus, pine, perfume, flowers. Malty, citrus, flavor with notes of orange, lemons, grapefruits and hints of mint and vanilla. Not as thick or sweet in the mouth as you would anticipate, finish is subtle with a lasting bitterness and acidity. A peak example of the type and enjoyable and drinkable. sneagrams3 (1704), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Nov 6, 2006 12oz bottle. Filtered and golden. Minimal malty nutty aroma. Medium and sticky. Cloyingly thick. Honeyish and nutty. Nice burn. Oaky vanilla note. "Tight flah-vah!" Yeah, that’s right. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA Nov 4, 2006 Updated: Nov 21, 200612 oz bottle via Jimboweed (thanks!). Pours a hazy amber with a small head. Floral aroma. Taste is very sweet and malty. I think this may be the sweetest IIPA i have ever tasted. Needs more hops to balance it out. There are some orange tasting hops underneath the malts, but they are very subdued. This is very unbalanced for a IIPA. With that said, it is not a bad beer, it is actually pretty tastey, just not really within the style..closer to a sweet mildly hopped barleywine.
