TheOrange (405), Kent, Ohio, USA Oct 10, 2006 Aroma is of pine, and much much hops. The pour is a golden amber with a yellowish foamy head. Very complex flavor, the threw just about anything they could find, in there. The hops are very present, there are also hints of coriander, citrus, and toffee. That is what came out at me, anyways. Very good DIPA. zebracakes (1214), Washington DC, USA Oct 3, 2006 Bottle. Pours orange gold with off white head. Aroma is caramel, malt, hops, floral, and citrus. Flavor is the same with a slight alcohol bite. punkrkr27 (607), Berkley, Michigan, USA Oct 3, 2006 Copper pour with a 1 finger, foamy, off-white head. Citrus and orange aroma with a note of spice, some dark fruit and a subtle caramel background. Grapefruit flavor pops up first, notes of orange peel, spice and more dark fruits on the finish. Hints of bannana/belgian yeast character in the aftertaste. Some alcohol too. Medium-full body. vyvvy (2023), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Sep 30, 2006 Pours deep orange with a soapy beige head. The aroma is thick musty caramel with evergreen-like hops. There is no date on the bottle, so I was wondering about the age from the aroma. However, it looks like this is the norm looking at some of the other reveiws. Medium / full bodied beer with lots of soft carbonation. The initial taste has a dominance of musty caramel malt with notes of piney hops. The finish has piney hops and some ABV warmth. I prefer my IIPAs with less of a malt presence and without the alcohol burn. This is fair for the style, but still significantly better than Stone 10. mcbackus (725), Merritt Island, Florida, USA Sep 25, 2006 very nice beer, the colour is a nice golden orange, the aroma is a little earthy and not to much floralness, not very strong either. the flovour is a little weak, not bland but not much malt at all. there is a nice full bitterness in the finish. overall i could drink this beer again, but nothing in it really jumps out at me. 1more4dessert (231), Upstate, New York, USA Sep 24, 2006 pretty distinctive dipa, grassy piney concoction with medium mouthfeel, a little light for the style. Aroma nothing to write home about - grassy not floral at all. Malt could use a little boost and some help with more judicious dry hopping would make it even better Palidor19 (1750), Brandon, Florida, USA Sep 24, 2006 Fabulous!!! It pour nice and long, with a first whiff gives the grassy, citrus that a DIPA is used to giving. Taste is strong of malts hops is grassy but not TOO bitter. Its got the perfect balance. DomErie (11), McKean, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 21, 2006 Nice hazy orange color with a modest head. Slight orangy aroma with a smooth, carmelly, sweet finish. The best feature of this beer is how well the hops and malt are in balance. For 75 ibu’s this is not overly bitter. A really smooth pour!
