Dopplebock1538 (71), Sanatoga, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 3, 2006 Damn! Rock solid brew. Tad alcy on the tail end. Handsome head, outstanding color. Over the top effort from another Pa brewery. kps100nj (6), New Jersey, USA does not count Mar 1, 2006 still the same after taste as the lager. got to see if this is the same for all or not. SDalkoholic (1186), Chula Vista, California, USA Feb 27, 2006 Bottled on July, 13th 2005: Even though this beer isn’t even one year old and its been properly stored in a cooler, it for some reason just taste old and really flat. Appears as a cloudy and hazed orange with a thick pillow of head. Aroma is strong but not in a pleasant way. More of a medicine meets licorice smell. The drink is boring and tasting of old hops with addition of cough syrup. Not the double Ipa i had expected but then again it just didnt age well at all. Birdiebeagle (778), Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 27, 2006 Bottle Pours a murky amber yellow with a huge off white head which is very lasting. Aroma is of nice malts. I got a nutty carmel with good hop highlights. Taste is a ver mild IPA. A very smooth beer, very drinkable. It could be a little meatierfor me, lacks some depth and finish, but overall a fine drinking ale. kook (2034), Perth, Western Australia, Australia Feb 24, 2006 LCRBM: Huge hops, grapefruit aroma dominates. Loads of fresh citric hops in the flavour. Nice simple caramel malt flavours to back it up. Tasty stuff. crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA Feb 23, 2006 Courtesy of Degarth.
Hazy orange, white head. Orange, piney, and grapefruit hop flavor, just a great tasting IPA TURDFERGUSON (1594), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Feb 23, 2006 poured a hazy orange with a small white head. smells very sweet, almost like candy with hints of hoppy fruitiness. Very sweet at first, but a nice hoppy feel begins to develop on the palate as you drink it and it warms up a bit. Doesnt have quite the balance of other double ipa’s, but is still enjoyable none the less. HopsOrDie (687), New Lenox, Illinois, USA Feb 22, 2006 Similar to the single IPA, there is an orange but not citric orange aroma and flavor to this brew. Pours orange with little chunks of yeast floating throughout. Decent carbonation with a small but lasting white head. Aroma has a candylike orange smell. Hop bitterness in the end with a little alcohol warmth eventually. Upfront there is a peachy/orange sweet flavor. A little different from the typical IIPA.
