Mads Langtved (2246), Copenhagen K, Denmark Feb 2, 2006 Bottled:
Hazy orange coloured. Citrus aroma wuth some mango notes? Some alcohol is present in the finish. A good load of hops finishes this beer well of. JensenTaster (1585), Denmark Feb 1, 2006 (on bottle) Golden, deep orange, disapearing white head. A sweet nose; freash cut grass, hops, not a huge sent. really nice, creamy mouthfeel, perfectly balanced with the flowerish and canesugared flavour. Bit too cloying in finish, but a treat after all. ryan (1774), Beltsville, Maryland, USA Jan 31, 2006 Pours a light amber with a small off-white head that quickly fades. The aroma is piney and soapy with a bit of apricotsand alcohol. The flavor is initially sweet, caramel, apricots, with a good amount lingering to balance out the bitterness at the end. The finish is medium length and soapy. The mouthfeel is rich, creamy and chewy. Overall this was an enjoyable beer, but not too exciting. frylock (996), Buffalo, New York, USA Jan 30, 2006 Very fruity hop aroma, loads of apricots and some melon as well. Bitter hops up front, well balanced by some toasty, rye-like malts. More fruity hop flavor with apricots coming through again. Not bad. mkgrenwel (420), Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA Jan 28, 2006 Very well balanced. Strong malt character balances a lush, fruity hop boquet. Very juicy fruit flavors, aided by a smooth, full palate. Not quite velvety, but something like that. Pine from the hops provides a clean, somewhat dry resiny finish. Alcohol comes out a bit as it warms. puzzl (2579), New York, New York, USA Jan 26, 2006 Drank right after a 3F Dreadnaught, so inevitably this is going to pale. Pours nice deep orange with a good head and lively fizzing. Aroma is nicely malty with decent chocolate touches to cover the big hop love. Nice bready, rich chocolately taste is excellent. Pretty atypical for an IIPA in that, though the hops are strong, has a very solid malt backbone that goes down really well. A very nice beer. Dogfish120 (143), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA Jan 24, 2006 Bottle: Hazy golden amber, nose was of highly hopped fruit, malt etc. Mouthfeel was decent, I was not expecting all the carbination though. A little more complexity and a little more balance would be preferable. Nice from start to finish.....a decent 2IPA. JonMoore (1561), Loughborough, Leicestershire, England Jan 23, 2006 Bottle conditioned at RFD, Washington DC. Dark golden colour with a slim white head. Hoppy aroma with some sweet background malts, caramel and honey. Very full bodied, chewy mouthfeel almost. Extremely hoppy all round - excellent.
