COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Stoudt's Double IPA is a strong, full-bodied ale with an intense hop character and deep golden color. This unusual brew is characteristic of the newly recognized style of extremely hoppy and malty ales of American origin. The Double IPA is our strongest beer with an alcohol of over 10% abv and bitterness of more than 75 IBU's. Multiple kettle hop additions and generous dry hopping contribute to the powerful yet smooth and fragrant hop character of this beer. 10% abv.

Average orange/brown appearance. Aroma is a little ’off’. Smells of pine, citrus and malt. Tastes very malty for an IPA / Belgiany Double IPA. Very good - different.

Draft at Khyber Pass. Tulip. Hazy amber pour with a large fizzy/foamy white head. Lots of lace. Feels more like a Barleywine with lots of tropical fruit notes. Piney pineapple. Mango pits. Honey tangerine peels. Fresh oak. Varnish. Sugarcane. Sticky amber fruit. Decent palate. Not bad at all. The most unusual, and maybe the best, to come out of Stoudts.

Nice grassy hops, light mango. Cloudy orange, offwhite lacing head. Mellow well balanced fruity. Fullbodied smooth, very drinkable & dangerous

Bottle pour clear yellow with orange hue. Nose slightly fruity hop, oranges, and malt. Taste of grapefruit bitterness, followed by astringency and some alcohol heat. Mid palate sweetness and a long bitter finish, but a high in the palate bitter, not the pleasing bitterness of most DIPA

Well balanced and very drinkable despite the big 10.0% ABV. I like citrus DIPAs more than big strong alpha hops and wood/pine characteristics. This one has a little bit of both and is fairly nice. Liked it, not up there with great DIPAS, solid starter on the B team though.

12 oz bottle. Pours bright amber yellow in colour, very little head. Warming mouth feel not as hoppy as one would expect!

Bottle. Light cloudy amber color. Good head. Unique initial aroma. Very unique taste; not my favorite. Light on palate for a double IPA.

This is a pretty good iipa that could be great if it wasn’t so strong. The hops and maltiness in this ipa are balanced pretty well as far as flavor, but there is so much alcohol in it that it is kind of ruined. It’s really difficult to brew beers over 9% abv that won’t have a strong alcohol bite. If I have a good double ipa, I’ll drink it myself because they are still relatively easy to drink. Whenever I drink one of these, I find myself splitting a bottle with someone else.

Golden with a white head. Aroma is fairly sweet with some nice tropical fruit notes. The flavor is tropical fruit and pineapple, candy, cherries and booze. Fairly interesting. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

bottled, thanks to mora 2000, clear yellow pour with aroma of jello, flavor of sweet sugary caramels, warm finish

12 oz bottle. Pours hazy-orange with a medium lasting, foamy white head. Aroma is of bready malt, yeast and hints of hops and ripe fruit. Body is full and slightly tangy. Taste is of intense citrusy, spicy hops with bready and caramel malt and some fruit in the background. Finish is long and very bitter. I did not like bottle conditioning idea in this DIPA.
