COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This unique ale merges the smooth and complex richness of an Oatmeal Stout with the assertive hoppiness of Imperial Stout. Fat Dog has an inviting silky-black color, a prominent roasted malt character, and a chocolatey, coffee-like finish.

12oz bottle poured into a tulip glass and served at room temp. Hazy and very dark brown color with a big rocky beige head. Aromas of dark chocolate and coffee liquor, with pleasant roastiness and grassy hops. Espresso flavors, roasted malts, some carobs, light tartness, medium bitterness and faint sour milk and alcohol notes. A bit over carbonated, med-full body, smooth and overall not bad.

Pours Black, when held to a light only the edges of a pint glass shows light. Two finger light beige head with nice lacing. Aroma of coffee, dark roasted malts. Rich malty-molasses, sweet coffee taste. Full body, alcohol is noticeable but not a distraction to the taste profile. Finishes coffee, dark chocolates, rich malts with a slight bitterness. Very nice!

Pours a dark ruby brown with a short caramel colored head. Smoky wood and cherry on the nose. Scrubby sensation livens up the otherwise wet mouthfeel. It becomes a bit astringent at the dry finish. The flavor is very good. Cherry is prominent. Smoky woody flavor. High quality stout.

Draft. Black with a thin tan head. Aroma oats and hops. Taste adds some roasty and light vanilla notes. Solid boozy punch. Medium crisp palate. Surprising body for the style. Very different.

Stoudts Fat Dog Stout is a rich dark a stout. It has a thick creamy head that combines an oatmeal stout with an imperial stout and finishes with a hint of coffee and chocolate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Notes of cocoa in the aroma with malt sweetness. Tastes not as sweet as bitter roasty malts take over the cocoa. Really awesome stuff.

Firkin at Real Ale. Pours black with thin tan head. Aroma or chocolate, roast, dark fruit, brown sugar. Medium to full body, oily mouthfeel. Milk chocolate taste, roast, nut. Haven’t had this one in quite some time and it was much better than I remembered it to be.

Trade With Theydon_Bois. Thanks. Vintage ?? Pours Black With a small creamy head. Sweet nose of chocolate, oat, fruit and ashes. Flavor adds mild coffee and a vaguely fruity tartness. Smooth and dry. Slight oxidation but great vinousness. My guess is 4 or 5 years old. Tasty.
