Commercial Description:
This unique ale merges the smooth and complex richness of an Oatmeal Stout with the assertive hoppiness of Imperial Stout. Fat Dog has an inviting silky-black color, a prominent roasted malt character, and a chocolatey, coffee-like finish.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a clear and almost opaque black with a vague tint of red. Small, bubbly light brown head. Fat vinous aroma with loads of dried fruit - raisins in particular. Solid - but not overly so - with a lot of malt, dried fruit and then a discreet, metallic edge - probably derivinig from the oats. A lightly burned bitterness in the finish that also contains some licorice. Courtesy of xproudfoot. 191206

Bottled. Very black. Concentrated aroma of coffee and milk chocolate. Sweet and creamy with notes of whiskey.Very rich with thick mouthfeel and notes of molasses. Tarry finish. The concentration of the flavours is really wonderful, but the sweetness and molasses reduces the enjoyment.

There’s some dark brown to the blackness. Rich, thick head. Some fudge and some slight nail polish phenols in the aroma. Rich milk chocolate body with more nail polish but it just gets annihilated by rich, oaty, roasty goodness.
