3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. The pour was a non transparent very dark brown almost black with an average sized (1-2 finger) thick creamy head and had decent retention which diminished down to a spotty residue. This allowed for some excellent sheets of lacing that coated the glass rather nicely.
The aroma was of a burnt chocolate malt and the moderate odor of a leathery yeast with notes of roasted coffee, dark chocolate and molasses and a decent scent of alcohol towards the end.
The taste was very malty and bold with a nice note of chocolate and a hint of molasses in the beginning and finished with a nice bitter coffee flavor that had a mild alcohol tinge at the end. The flavor lingered for a real long time which allowed the bold alcohol coffee flavor to settle nicely on the taste buds.
Mouthfeel was quite full in body with the texture being nice and creamy, and yet a little dry with the carbonation being a tad on the mild side.
Overall an exceptional Imperial Stout that had an explosion of flavor and a nice dose of alcohol that worked very well together.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass at "The Pub" in Gettysburg, PA. This beer is a pitch black offering with a nice tan head. The aromas is full of roasted grains and cocoa. the taste is a lot like the aroma with some cocoa, coffee and malt blended well for a flavorful event. My favorite Imperial Oatmeal Stout to date.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz brown bottle; Lot #721; Bottled date of August 2014..
Pours dark brown, looking black in the snifter. The light brown head has a creamy look and good retention. This has a full and very smooth mouthfeel, but with some light heat fro alcohol.
The aroma carries the usual mix of dark malts and oats, with little in the way of alcohol esters, but with a touch of spiciness (hops?). The flavor also reflects some spicy hops but is dominated by dark roasted grains. Minimal sourness. Mildly bitter. Some chocolate with only faint raisins and vague dark fruit in the flavor.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: Pitch black, inky body with a light-tan creamy head that doesnít last. Aroma of bakerís chocolate, bitter cocoa dust, licorice, creamy oatmeal, a small hint of brown sugar, & mild coffee beans. Flavor is smooth, good balance of bitter & sweet. Oatmeal, chocolate, hints of coffee, faint anise, a touch of roast & char nearing the finish. Body could be a little thicker, but overall this was pretty tasty.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This was poured into a mini snifter.
The appearance was a dark brown color with no head and no lacing.
The smell had a nice sweet milk chocolate and dark choclate with roasty coffee tones roaming around the beer.
The taste took all of those previously mentioned flavors to combine. Sweet gentle tones. A nice sweet rolling roasty aftertaste leads to a quick dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sipping to sessionable quality about it. Carbonated nicely, the oatmeal helps to balance to a decent grainy feel.
Overall, Iím quite pleased with this beer and would have it again.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Wow, what can I say! Donít know if I have tried a better oatmeal stout yet. Has an off-black, thick appearance. Medium-heavy carbonation to bring out a frothy mocha-white head. Taste of oats, chocolate malts, hops, and all sorts of other goodies. Canít wait to buy more.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
bottle @ Jungle Jimís / Eastgate OH --- Opaque black/brown color, bubbly beige rim head, dots and blobs of lace. Taste is chewy toasted malt that grows into the palate, adding medium hops. On the swallow the malt re-enters, becoming sweeter as it lingers in a medium finish. Recommended.
