4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Initially, it has an awesome, piney nose; smells like you’re in a forest of Cascade hops. Flavor is very well-rounded. Smooth texture on the tongue. It’s hoppy, no doubt, but not as much as I like in an IPA. Overall, this is a great beer - too bad I can’t wait for it to ’mature’ over time. I hear it ages well.

good aroma of hops. nice amber color, not too much head. very assertive hop flavor/bitterness, with solid body of malt to balance it out. not my favorite style, but this is a good version of it.

2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
750 ml bottle. Pours a deep, slightly hazed red with a moderate off-white head that lasted though the first third of the glass and left partial lace. The aroma is grotesquely sweet. Sweet caramel, honey and rotting apples are all present in the nose. Thankfully, the flavor in no way resembles the aroma, although it is hard to escape without inhaling a bit with each sip. Caramel and malt up front followed by some musty apples. Light bitterness at the finish. Were it not for the off-putting aroma, this would be a decent IPA.
