Our new spring seasonal beer, Karnival Kolsch is arriving just in time for our Fasching Karneval . We are very excited about the release of this beer. For the first time in Stoudt’s history, we are releasing a brand new beer that has already received a medal at the Great American Beer Festival. This refreshing German-style ale was brewed using 2-row malt, a small amount of red wheat malt, and all German hops for bittering and aroma. This straw colored ale is smooth like a lager due to the colder fermentation temperature and extended cellaring time. It is dry and crisp with a slight fruitiness which compliments the mild hop bitterness and aroma. This light ale is a fresh complement to most foods, but in particular fish, chicken, and salads. Karneval Kolsch will be available at your local distributor soon.

On tap at Joe Canals West Deptford.
Appearance: Cloudy pale golden body, resembling a witbier, with a creamy white head.
Aroma: Slightly lemony with a mild sweetness. a very subtle spiciness and perhaps a touch of wheat. Pleasant aroma, decent strength.
Taste: A mild/pleasant sweet lemon flavor is apparent with a touch of malty sweetness and a subtle spiciness by the finish. Easy to drink.
Palate: Medium to full-bodied with moderate to high carbonation, prickling sensation on the tongue.
Overall: Very easy to drink with subtle pleasant hints of things. This would be great with certain light dishes.

Pours gold into a Sam glass. Bright white head with good retention recedes leaving scant lacing. Dough and hay aromas. Sharp with sweet caramel and hay upfront turning to mild sourdough before the lasting earthy bitter finish.

A light yellow pour with white head. Aroma of bread, malt, banana, grass. Dry palate, thin body, good alcoholic bitterness. Not much present, but it has a nice character to it that screams Stoudts. Kolsch.

Rated on 12-21-2010. This bottled beer has a small fizzy white head that mostly diminishes, yellow transparent body, fizzy carbonation, and a ring of lacing. The aroma is malty, wheat, yeasty, hoppy, sweet, and fruity. The taste is lightly sweet, lightly bitter, wheat, and fruity. The mouth feel is tingly and this beer is medium bodied. All-in-all, this beer is quaffable, not overly hoppy tasting, but does not own much character or WOW factor.

Stoudt Karnival kolsch is a German style ale that has straw yellow color. True to German brewed kolsches, Stoudts it is dry and crisp with just a hint of fruitiness. Where it falls short of an excellent kolsch is the slightly sour fruity finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured golden, cloudy and with a nice foamy white head and tons of lacing on the glass. Aroma is not great, grass, wheat and some funk... However taste is pretty good, citrus notes, some malts and some hops, very refreshing, very crisp. Very enjoyable.
