3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Cakes (306) - New Bloomfield, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 16, 2013
On tap at Stoudt’s Restaurant.
Pale amber color, thin head that dissipates quickly. Interesting nose - yeast and fresh bread with some fruitiness. Body is a little light for an Octoberfest, and overall it is light on flavor.
A ’mature", older style fest.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 DiarmaidBHK (2395) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 23, 2013
Draft at Smiling Chameleon. Pours brown with an inch of white head. Slight malt notes on the nose. A bit of caramel on the tongue. Maybe this keg has been sitting around too long but it has an almost buttery finish to it. Meh!
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 ronaldtheriot (811) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - MAR 7, 2013
Stoudts Oktober Fest has a thick, fluffy, off-white head, heavy, splotchy lacing, and a hazy, copper appearance with some streaming bubbles and a lot of suspended, tiny, white particles floating throughout. The aroma is sweet, toasty, bready, and caramel. Taste is similar, with even some hint of citrus in there. The hop bitterness is mild, but it does have enough presence to balance out the beer. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Stoudts Oktober Fest finishes dry, mellow, drinkable, and delicious. This is a wonderful beer, and I highly recommend it! RJT
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 superspak (1536) - Michigan, USA - DEC 16, 2012
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 2/8/2013. Pours lightly hazy golden amber color with a nice 1-2 finger fairly dense white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of caramel, pear, apple, bread, toast, toffee, floral, light citrus, and herbal hops. Very nice aromas with good balance, strength, and complexity. Taste of caramel, toast, bread, pear, apple, toffee, floral, light pepper, and herbal hops. No bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, light fruits, toast, toffee, bread, floral, and herbal hops on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance of malty flavors that are fairly robust; with zero cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with hardly any warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very nice Oktoberfest. Nice balance of fairly robust malty flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering; and nice example of the style as well.

12oz to mini-dimple. Lively soda like carbonation. Head dissapears immediately. Light orangey amber. A bit bland. Could definitely throw back a few liters.

Bottle--nice example of the style. Gold color with a small head and some lacing. Malt aroma with a touch of biscuit. The biscuit dominates more in the taste with sweetness in the malt. I miss Stoudts at our local store. Bruisin Ales 2.00.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 fluffy (817) - St Petersburg, Florida, USA - NOV 14, 2012
ive only had a handful of stuff from Stoudts, but what ive had has all been above par. this is solid an example of a Ofest beer as any from europe like Spaten or HS. biscuit-y, dry, some background toffee and butter notes, clean only slightly oily finish. very nice.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 keanex (830) - Atco, New Jersey, USA - NOV 12, 2012
No bottling information.
Appearance: The body is a bit lighter hued than most oktoberfests I’ve seen, this being a light and clear amber with no carbonation present in the body. The head is thin and tan with some lacing as it slowly dissipates.
Aroma: The aroma is really lacking, light malt sweetness and light hop presence, but rather bland.
Taste: This is rather unremarkable, lightly sweet malts, light toasted flavors, and light floral hops on the finish. It’s not bad, but it’s forgettable.
Palate: Medium bodied with light amounts of lightly sharp carbonation.
Overall: Mediocre at best, this is good but nothing that stands out. I’ll pass next year.
