3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pint on tap, and 12 oz bottle. Clear orange-amber with a lasting disc of foam. Aromas of sweet dry grass, caramel malt and light citrus. Tastes of toffee, toast, and sweet orange, balanced by a lightly crisp dry-grassy finish. Medium body is smooth and well balanced. Nice sessioner that’s true to style.

3.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Originally reviewed: 10/21/10. Another festbier on my list for this autumn. I’ve wanted to try this one for awhile. 12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours a much lighter than expected, pale orange. A thin off-white head rests atop. Leaves some light lace behind. There’s not much to the nose of this beer. Some faint grain and malts. Nothing stands out.
Good moderately full body. Given the low ABV, I’m surprised at how "heavy" this feels. This is really a secretly-full beer. Great beer that’s full of flavor. Lots of tasty breadiness finished with a kiss of sweetness. Nice grainy aftertaste. This really is one of my favorite of the season. Great flavor, excellent drinkability. Just tweak the nose a bit, and this is stellar.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
amber hue, foamy head with gobs of retention. bubbling carbonation. Nose is clean if not malty, taste is sweet, bready and finishes with light grass and flower. More balanced than many Marzens I’ve had. drinkable. A much fuller body than many marzens I’ve tried this year. Nice!!
