corby112 (671), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 19, 2009 Pours a clear dark golden yellow with some ripe banana hues and a two finger frothy, pillowy white head that has great retention, only slowly fading into a lasting cap that leaves chunks of soapy lacing.
Slightly earthy aroma with lots of pilsner malt and a decent floral hop presence. There’s also a bit of straw and grass aroma and very subtle light fruit.
Pretty hop forward for the style with a very clean crisp medium body. Slightly bready yeast presence with a huge Pilsner malt backbone. The earthy grass and straw notes found in the aroma shine through nicely. Very well balanced with just enough hop bitterness without going overboard and overpowering the nice pilsner malt presence. Slight biscuit and graham cracker maltiness and slight crisp light fruit notes, mostly apple. Very quaffable tasty session beer. Perfect for the warmer months but good anytime. Derek881 (486), Frederick, Maryland, USA Oct 15, 2009 I sampled this beer from the bottle. It had a semi-clear gold color with a good-sized, foamy white head that had good retention and decent cling. The beer had a light grainy aroma with some grassy hops and a bit of malt too. The flavor was a mix of subtle sweetness and some grainy bitterness too, but not overpowering on either end. It had decent carbonation, a modest body and mouthfeel, and was fairly smooth. Boutip (2330), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Oct 5, 2009 Bottle: Poured a bright golden color pils with a large pure white foamy head with good retention and great lacing. Aroma of grassy and dry hops with solid malt backbone. Taste is dryer then I had anticipated (not that this is a bad thing) with a solid malt backbone. Body is quite full with perfect carbonation for the style. Very well done and something I would wish would be available around here. ROGUE (621), Newark, Delaware, USA Sep 27, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a straw golden color with a thick foamy head that leaves some lacing. A weaker aroma of citrus and grassy wheat. Taste has a grassy malty start that is not overpowering with an abrupt hops bite at the finish. A crisp, dry and light bodied session beer.
Leighton (234), New York, New York, USA Sep 23, 2009 Had this on draft at Lucky Dog during Craft Beer Week 2009. A really delicious pilsner. I was drinking mostly big beers but this guy stood out. Pale yellow in color with a slight head. Nice carbonation and a crisp flavor of bread and corn. Sharp and refreshing finish. jimhilt (1662), Bow, New Hampshire, USA Sep 18, 2009 Pours a four finger white head that fades slowly to a thin layer leaving a good lace. Crystal clear pale yellow color. Light carbonation and medium bodied. Straw nose. Flavor is sweet straw that fades to grapefruit hops. Lingering hoppy aftertaste. $2.00 for a 12oz bottle from Beverage Warehouse Winooski, VT. TaktikMTL (2739), Montréal-Nord, Quebec, Canada Sep 1, 2009 En fût. (Rating #2621) 17thfloor (1402), Chicago, Illinois, USA Sep 1, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a very light clear somewhat dull yellow gold with a medium foamy white froth 2.5. Aroma is lightly sweet, grainy, bready, there was a lot of head-space in the top of my bottle which I assume is leading to some of the biscuity/corny malt notes I’m getting, hop aroma is light. First taste is brightly sweet, slightly metallic, on the dry side though, dusty old tasting stale pils malt, hops flavor is subtle despite the big bitterness, dry grassy. The hops are best tasted in the long clean aftertaste. I really enjoy the dry bitterness. Body is slightly syrupy-feeling even though it is quite dry, ample carbonation. I can only imagine this is better either fresher or with less air in the head-space!
