Transparent gold with small white head. Nose is mainly hop with some grass. More malt in the flavor, but still not very significant and the bitterness rules. Its also lacking the crisp quality that I find in my favorite pilsners. Still, I could enjoy 4-5 of these.

12oz bottle from Jans Wine and Boos#2 (Tampa, FL). Pours a crystal clear bright yellow color with a two finger white foamy head that settles slowly and provides nice lacing. Aroma is wheaty and grassy with notes of spice, pine, and slight floral notes. Flavor is grassy and wheaty with a nutty almost peanut butter like notes in the middle. Some spice and bread as well. Generally light-bodied with slightly hoppy finish.

(Bottle). Aroma of hops and grass. Mid-yellow color with a moderate creamy white head. Delicious hoppy flavor, cushioned with hay notes, and with a moderate bitter finish that lingers. Excellent iteration of a German pils.

UPDATED: SEP 22, 2008 Bright golden with white head, leaves decent lacing. Herbal, grassy, aromatic hops. Smooth, soft mouthfeel. Clean, balanced, crisp bitterness like biting into a fresh leaf of Endive. Not a bad pils, not terribly exciting either and reminds me a lot of a solid Bavarian hellas.

Slightly hazy straw colour. Herbal hop aroma (hay, dried thyme, maybe epazote). Dry, herbal and haylike on the palate. Very lean, not much malt. Good bitterness. Nicely done, solid north German stylings.

On tap at Brother Tuckers. Bright, clear yellow pour. American macros can only dream. Malty aroma with some other grain in the nose..corn? Flavor is malty tongue with a nice bubbly finish. I don’t usually like this style, but this one i did.

bottle poured into a snifter has a light yellow golden color, hefty visible carbonation, and a one finger white foamy head. aroma has pilsner malt, corn sweetness, hefty hops for the style, and some grass. mouth feel is light with heavy carbonation. flavor has a nice combination of pilsner malt and hops, bitterness at the sides of the tongue, bites down nice with grains and grass. finish has a battle of sweetness that dries out and leaves a bitterness that lingers for a minute. very well done for the style and has enough hop interest while remaining a pilsner.
