3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
Comes out as crystal clear, very light yellow with a giant and dense white head. Crisp but barely-there aroma, Deutsche hops with hints of white wine. Similarly weak flavor, a little sweet and a little hoppy. An intense lingering spiciness is probably the highlight of this beer, other than the really well-balanced mouthfeel. There’s a ton of excellent German-style lagers coming out, this is decent but can’t roll with a lot that you can find these days.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hoppy and fruity. Balanced. A beer like this makes me want to purchase cases again. In PA, that is a full commitment to make.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a golden color with lacy white head. Aroma is cream of wheat and plenty of catty german hops that have faded.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
GABF 2013. Pours a clear golden appearance with a white head. Cereal, a bit grainy, herbal, light grassy, floral aroma. Pretty nice noble hops in the flavor along with some lightly toasted malts and light lemon. Ok.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Fries Cafe. Pours a clear gold with a finger of white head that doesn’t last long. The aroma is lighter, with a clean malt character; pale, pils, cracker, cereal. The flavor is equally malty, with a light grassy and herbal balancing hop character. Some bitter florals late. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a clean, dry, malty mouthfeel. Really nice pils.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
stoudts does a good job with german styles (especially their kölsch). this has got the right rich dry pils malt aroma with clean lager yeast aromatics. walking the line between apparent lightness and hearty pale malt heft. not overly bitter/hoppy. good version of the style.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a clear pale yellow with a large sudsy white head which lasted for a bit and left some thick lacing. Nose is grainy sweetness with some earth and hop notes. More sweet than bitter in the mouth with more cereal grain and some hay. A little bitterness in the finish. Not that dry or crisp. Okay but maybe a not so fresh bottle.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: The aroma consists of honey, cereal, faint fruit, and a touch of grass. It pours a transparent gold with a small white head that quickly fades to a thin film. There is some thin webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with honey and a touch of cereal/grains. The finish has light grass, and just a touch of lemon. It’s light-medium bodied with somewhat carbonation and mouthfeel. Overall, a little sweeter than I like my Pilsners.
