Pils is reflective of a traditional German-style Pilsener. It is delicately dry with a firm bitterness.Brilliant straw color with medium body, and noble hop aroma. A terrific thirst quencher. An Excellent aperitif.

Draught @ Albion. Clear bright yellow with small off-white foamy head, malt aroma, high carbonation, crisp malt taste, abrupt finish. Very nice specimen of the Pilsner category.

This is one of the best Pilseners in America and holds its own against the best European Piseners. In my opinion this beer is based on the Stoudts Golden Lager but with more hops.

Keg @ Monks. Brilliant gold pour with a creamy white head. Nose of lightcut grass. Peppered straw. A bit of biscuit malty sweetness. Pleasant, easy going flavor. Lemon zest accents. Light bready malts. A touch of slightly peppery noble hops. Dry finish. Pillowy carbonation. Good.

Starkes Hopfenaroma. Für ein Pils viel zu fruchtig. Geschmack ebenfalls eher wie ein Pale Ale. Etwas muffig.

Hell, klar. Geruch leicht malzig mit leichter Hopfennote. Bitter zum Ende. Leider ein bisschen nachhängend, aber sonst gut getroffen!

I think I had this long, long before, in a pre-Ratebeer life. On tap at Philly airport. Poured a clear light gold, nice head. Aroma was lightly of Pils malts, spicy and grassy hops. Flavor matched, good balancing bitterness. Wish the hop flavors had been a bit more pronounced, but a solidly made brew. Very clean.

This is a very smooth crisp beer. One of the best pils that I’ve had, that wasn’t an imperial pilsner. There are still many that I haven’t tried, especially from Europe, but as far as American microbrews are concerned this is spot on. Has a pale yellow color, clear light texture. Tastes of wheat, barley,, very light hops. Highly recommended if looking for something on the lighter side.

UPDATED: APR 5, 2015 Brown bottle into pilsner glass. A: Lightly golden brightish yellow with a good finger of jagged, well lasting head. Decent lacing. Carbonation seems to lesson quite a bit after a couple minutes. S: Definite bready malts with a spicy note that I attribute to the hops but maybe sort of toasty too. T: Much like the smell but the spicy hop character is much more fleshed out. The heavy bread/toast flavor has not died out though, creating a balance that I find both unusual and pleasant. There is a bottom note that I do not get in the nose, Which I’ll say is pleasantly surprising. M: Light as expected, but surprisingly "there" with a slight bitter oiliness that turns dry at the finish. Carbonation is a bit light but certainly passable. O: Impressive! This is what I’ve been enjoying finding in the pilsner style. Straight simple and refreshing. Quite distinctive beer but not much to overcomplicate or muck up the taste. Refreshing as hell but way too good for the lawnmower! Too bad this is so expensive at $12/6 or I’d buy it regularly.
