A full bodied ale has a deep reddish amber color with a thick creamy head. Pungent hop flavors are derived from 3 different varieties of domestically grown hops. This ale finishes on the dry side with a wonderful citrus hop flavor. 6.2% abv

Draft. Fresh. Clear reddish orange with good head. Clean malty, spiced and orange. Mildly sweet malt heavy bitter. Clean crsip soft palate. Quite enjoyable for a regular drinking red.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright caramel color with a large creamy orange-white head that lingered forever and left incredible lacing. The aroma was faint nut and caramel. The flavor was bitter and tangy with notes of caramel, sour nut, and lightly rough fruity and floral hops. The finish was medium length bitter and rough hops. Medium body. Eh.

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2011 Bottle. Smells like your average English ale with a splash of hops. Some sweet notes but most of the nose is malt and alcohol. This is on the dry side but pretty enjoyable. A bit of alcohol on the finish. B plus.

On the twelfth day of Christmas 2011. Pours clear reddish rown with a white fluffy head. Aroma is citrus, caramel and some florals. Taste is very light bitters with sweet finish. Tastes very unfinished. Light and airy. Overall this seems very incomplete, much more malty then other APAs.

This seems to be the same as one of the other stoudt beers, Pour is fairly clear and actually its kind of orange yellow, not red. First taste is something quite sharp bitter, not really hops and not really pilsner. Inthe back of the throat this sharp bitterness builds and then levels off. Not overwhelmingly bitter on the finish because I think I’m getting used to it.

12oz bottle. Seemed promising from the pour but once it settled I could tell that it was lighter then I expected, especially in the color. Aroma is slightly hoppy with notes of honey citrus but the flavor falls short. Light in body and flavor. Nothing special.

Bottle. Pours reddish/amber with a small, off-white head. Aroma is all malts. Taste is mostly malt with just a hint of citrus hops. Weird soapy finish. A decent beer, but not hoppy and not what I would consider a good APA.

floral and citrus hops, yeast and caramel maltiness make up the aroma, sort of pilsner-like as well...nice amber red clear color and off-white head with lacing..taste..hoppy alrightwith a yeasty backbone again very pilsner-ish..medium bodied long lasting dry aftertaste..overall..good and hoppy but a bit unbalanced better than average goes down easy but unspectacular

A decent beer, though I would not use the word "hoppy" anywhere near this beer. Aroma was like a scotch ale. Strong heavy malt with a little smokiness. Pour was a burnt orange with just a few off white bubbles for a head. Taste was all malt. Heavy burnt caramel malt, toffee and some burnt flavors that pop up after the swallow. There is a slightly bitter grapefruit juice-like bitterness that sticks on the top of the mouth and tonsils, but that is the only indication that there are hops in this beer. Nice carbonation.

Bottle. Pours deep copper with ruby hints and a 3-finger off-white head. Nose is caramel malt, citric hops, slight rock sugary and funk notes. Tastes caramel malty, somewhat tart, very resiny and bitter hoppy. Palate is medium in heft and complexity. Good, but not as good as the pils, APA, IPA, and IIPA.
