A full bodied ale has a deep reddish amber color with a thick creamy head. Pungent hop flavors are derived from 3 different varieties of domestically grown hops. This ale finishes on the dry side with a wonderful citrus hop flavor. 6.2% abv

Great ruby red/brown appearance. Sweet (but not too sweet) malty aroma... maybe with a hint of pungent funk. A light IPA taste with a slight pungent flavor and fairly drinkable. I like it.

The Revel Red pours a clear rusty orange color with a light tan head that lasts a good while. The aroma is caramel and citrus. The flavor is caramel up front with a citrus finish. Overall this beer is decent.

Had on tap in a pint glass. Pours a clear deep red with an off-white head. Lacing is great although the head retention is so-so. Aroma is on the faint side but there it has a slightly sweet note with some biscuit and a touch of rye. The flavor follows the aroma with more rye, hints of some moderately toasted malt and a very high bitterness. Hops are somewhat spicy nicely complimenting the rye notes. Finish is very dry. Overall, a decent beer but honestly it is pretty average and nothing really sticks out. I do love rye beers but this one is just a tad watery and a bit unbalanced.

The aroma is yeast, caramel malts, light pine and a hint of tea. The flavor is grapefruit, citrus, fruit, mild hop resin notes, mild tea, malts and a long and bitter/dry finish.

12oz into a pint, picked up at a random packy with a pick any 6 micros deal, might be a super old bottle though, foam was rushing towards the top before the pour, not cool. After a oozy pour with a thin creamy head that was huge then settled down to a thin rim, the beer shined a heavy cooper amber fire with brown shades, looked rather nice in the light. Taste was a weird metallic, rusty and fresh at the same time, then hops, amber ambivalance, this is a pale ale? drinks like a hoppy red, could go for a red ipa. Aroma is sweet layered nectar, orange swings in, sweet and nutty malts, but the whole thing just seems a bit off to me, has to be the age fo the bottle, with no freshenss date Im left to ponder, this could be alot better if freshness ensued. But at this point in time, its an ok drinker, the hop profile adds alot to the mix, bringing a regular amber towards a more ingrained ipa likeness. Aftertaste is tinny, dry, sour and not quite refreshing. eh...

Stoudts Revel Red is a deep amber red ale. It has a distinctive hop aroma and creamy head that finishes dry with a hint of citrus hoppiness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
