COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full bodied ale has a deep reddish amber color with a thick creamy head. Pungent hop flavors are derived from 3 different varieties of domestically grown hops. This ale finishes on the dry side with a wonderful citrus hop flavor. 6.2% abv

Draft at Eulogy. Poured a clear dark orange red brown with a large foamy head. Medium hops meet medium malt. Juicy red fruits. Plums. Strawberries. Caramel apple. Some floral notes, even some earthy notes might be hiding in there, but mostly a gentle brown sugared IPA. Medium-light body but the sugar makes it feel fuller.

12oz bottle drank at Artisans. Poured a clear deep red/amber with a smaller light beige foamy head. Aroma is nice and hoppy some slight pineapple juice and toast. Fuller bodied with a big mouthfeel and stronger carbonation. Flavor is no where near as hoppy as the aroma, notes of grains and cereal, hop cones, seltzer, dry caramel and dry molassess. Meh, aroma starts off solid but falls off big time in the aroma.

Shimmery copper pour. Pretty heavy/dominant maltiness going on here. Caramel malts in the aroma with feint citrus hops. Flavor is mostly sweet caramel malts. ok but very little bitterness

UPDATED: DEC 22, 2011 12 oz. Clear, shiny copper with a lasting spongy foam. Aromas of soapy caramel, perfum-ee citrus, and coarse grain. Taste is perfumed orange, coarse Fruit Loop cereal, and a barely-saving, dryish finish of peppery resin and light alcohol. Medium body is slightly oily, sweet and lightly carbonated.

A decent beer, though I would not use the word "hoppy" anywhere near this beer. Aroma was like a scotch ale. Strong heavy malt with a little smokiness. Pour was a burnt orange with just a few off white bubbles for a head. Taste was all malt. Heavy burnt caramel malt, toffee and some burnt flavors that pop up after the swallow. There is a slightly bitter grapefruit juice-like bitterness that sticks on the top of the mouth and tonsils, but that is the only indication that there are hops in this beer. Nice carbonation.

Bottle best buy 5/12/12 (more than 2months from now). Golden amber pour with fluffy head. Sweet caramel and biscuits. A bit cloying. Not dry or hoppy and should still be good according to the freshness stamp. Disappointing beer from a solid brewer.
