Poured from a 12 oz into a pilsner glass. Pours a light ruby red with tons of cloudy white head. Sticky lacing from rim to surface. Mouthfeel is light, crisp and dry. Perfect amount of lacing. Very little aroma. Taste is crisp and light. Earthy hop tomes with mango, herbs, pineapple, apple, very light pine and grapes. This was a very nice surprise! I expected very little but was wrong. This beer is a very drinkable ipa/ red ale with lots of full hop flavors. Good job Stoudts! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle sample - No red ale aroma, but certainly has a dark amber appearance. Fun hop ride! Pretty fresh too. Dynamic brew worth trying.

The aroma is yeast, caramel malts, light pine and a hint of tea. The flavor is grapefruit, citrus, fruit, mild hop resin notes, mild tea, malts and a long and bitter/dry finish.

UPDATED: NOV 26, 2011 Very rounded feeling for an apa. I’ve noticed that about a lot of stoudts non German style beers. Nice hops mixed with a hefty dose of caramel and toasted Malts. A bit hopper version of their Scarlet Lady? Maybe not. But it did remind me of it. Quality beer and a good drinking one but wanted a bit more crispness.

Draught from The Habitat. Pours reddish brownish, nice head and rye-ish grainy aromatics, hops bittters to finish. not bad.

Bottle. Pours clear bright dark copper with a medium creamy/frothy tan head. Aromas of pine and citrus hops with some sweet caramel malt. The flavor is sweet initially, moving to bitter earthy and piney hops. Good. [893]

Bottle. Poured a clear copper color with an average to large frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate citrus hops and malt aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. I would recommend this to a freind.

12oz bottle (best by: 5/16/12). Clear orange color, a good thin cream-colored head, leaving good lace. A lighter, crisp carbonation. Nice and dry, good texture. A hoppy red, basically. Nice, spiced hop aroma. Nice sweet and spicy taste, slight bitter. A decent enough beer, but it leaves me wanting something more out of it. I’ll take an imperial version, please
