12 oz. bottle acquired in trade from Daknole- thanks! Served in shaker- poured transparent copper-maroon color, low carbonation, frothy one finger head formed and lasted for a good 10 minutes. Aroma of caramel malt with notes of molasses and hops. Hits the mouth with a medium body, malt is there and is nicely bound with hops, a very dull sweetness in the middle, finish is coaxing and asks for another sip. Works for me.

Pours a clear amber colour with plenty of carbonation. Aroma is mildly hoppy. Floral and citrusy. Soft caramel malt, yet full on the palate. Fruity and slightly biscuity with a decent amount of hops in the finish. Nice beer!

Pours a mostly clear ruby with a minimal off white head... Aroma is dominated by english malts and a touch of spiciness... Flavor profile follows suit with a touch of english hops followed by a moderately dry finish... Not Sweet... Medium bodied...

Tap at Mudville 9. Poured a light, amber-red with a fine white head. Nose of mildly bitter hops and some malts. Flavor is a light blend of light maltiness and mild hops. Light in body, this beer finishes crisp and fine. Not the kind of beer I would order normally, but I can certainly understand this beer’s appeal as a sessioner. Not bad.

Amber. Toffee aroma mixed with light roast and some faint hops. Flavor is smooth and a bit toasty. Tiny bitterness.

(Draught) Poured deep red wine colour with medium sized and white head. Aroma was of malts and molasses. Medium bodied palate with medium carbonation. Tasted of malts, hops, lightly molassa and bitterness. Finished malty and bitter. Quite simple and bit boring ESB.

Pours a dark amber/ruby red color with golden amber orange hues when held to a light source and a three finger froth, pillowy yellowish off-white head. Excellent retention, only very slowly fading to a lasting cap that leaves chunky rings of soapy lacing. Sweet caramel malt aroma with subtle earthy and rosted notes, biscuit, hazelnut and floral hops. Pretty hop forward with earthy floral bitter hops that are decently balanced by the morris otter malt backbone. Hints of caramel, biscuit, rye, hazelnut and toast. There is a nice sweetness in the malt that counters the bitterness up front pretty well. Dry earthy hop finish. decent session beer.

On tap at GABF 2009. A very nice ESB from Stoudts. Great appearance: clear reddish-copper color with a large, lasting white head. Aroma is caramel, roast, nuts, and citrus. Flavor is caramel and Maris Otter malt, orange/citrus, nuts, and floral hop bitterness on the finish. Palate is smooth with medium body and soft carbonation. Overall very solid.
