COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This authentic English-style ale is brewed from the finest imported Marris Otter malt for arich, reddish-copper color and full, malty palate. the generous use of English hops balances the regal, sweet maltiness and imparts a softly perfumed aroma.

Bottle. This is a pretty lackluster bitter. The malt to hop balance was tilted to far towards the bitter for my taste.

Draft @ Stouds. Love this stuff. Beautiful Dark Reddish amber color with scant head and mild hop aroma. Taste is clean with a solid but not beefy malt base and some hops. Hops are much noticable in the slightly bitter after taste. Smooth and light Mouthfeel. Hands down the most sessionable beer I have ever had the pleasure of drinking. I could drink 2 or 20 of these.

Amber color. Bitter and nutty. Chewy. Earthy. Tea leaves. Easy drinking. Nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Good amber, on tap at Boston bar, creamy, light finish, very good amber though with a solid namr

Bottle. Pours a clear dark copper body with a small frothy off-white head that faded to a thin film. The nose is toasty malt with a bit more sweetness than I’d like for the style. A minimal English hop note as well. The flavor has a little bit of sour twang to it that signals a serious problem. It seems OK up front, but the finish is way off. This is undrinkable. I almost can’t believe that Stoudts would put out an infected beer like this, it’s very disappointing. Light bodied and thin with fizzy carbonation. Awful, and very disturbing. Going to have to re-rate this one soon. This used to be a favorite of mine from them.

Dark amber color, no head or lacing to speak of. Malty with a bit of hop bitterness mid-taste. Okay ESB.

Not bad. Very aromatic and nice to drink. Was not extremely bitter but still have those touches.

At a tasting, thanks zvikar, small creamy head, deep hazy orange colour, aroma of hay and nuts with some caramel, flavour of caramel, hay with some graininess and a touch of metal, strong and a touch coarse bitterness. Quite nice.
