Malty and slightly hoppy, easy to drink too. Pretty good beer, seems to be a fairly solid brewery. thebeertourist (2777), Oslo, Norway
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Apr 8, 2006 Bottle. Clear copper-coloured with an average, not very long-lasting, off-white head. Aroma is predominantly malty balanced by some citrus hoppiness. Sweet toffee flavours with offsetting bitterness. Good carbonation, light to medium body. Well-made, but not memorable. The flavor is very true to form- nicely balanced and finishes malty with a hint of bitterness. JoeMcPhee (5000), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Apr 6, 2006 12 oz bottle. Deep copper/amber colour, thick tan head. Aroma is quite woody and spicy. Sweet caramel malt, very leafy and tobaccoish. Flavour is very sweet. Caramel, toast and lots of brown sugary sweetness. Leafy hop flavour but it’s totally overwhelmed by the sticky malts. Slightly nutty. Earthy hop finish. It’s okay, but I’d take a Boomer’s Red over this any day. harmfuldrunk (288), New Jersey, USA

Following a Fuller’s ESB, this brew stumbles badly. Cidery appearance, little to no head. High marks for the very pleasant fruity/malt aroma, but demerits for too little of it reaching the taste buds. Quite watery & a bit flat-tasting overall. I wouldn’t seek this out.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 31, 2006 Bottle shared with HogTownHarry courtesy of Thaichile. Pours a clear bubbly deep amber with a quickly diminishing off-white head. Aroma of funky hops with some toasty caramel malt and fruit. The flavour pretty much follows the nose: toasty caramel malt, a bit of fruit and a nice English hop bitterness -- though it’s not as hoppy as the aroma suggests. Medium bodied. A simple ESB but pleasant and very nice to drink.
