Caramel and light fruit in the aroma as well as a sweet maltiness. Hops shine in the taste, with a nice bitittering on the palette, fading to a smooth malty finish. Pretty well balanced. Some floral hoppiness lingers well past the finish. I like ESB’s and this makes a great every-day drinking beer, although it is a bit pricey where I am. 11026 (1799), Alabama, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Dec 28, 2005 An excellent ESB. Pours a pleasant ruby bronze with a decent head. Good balanced flavor between the malt and the hops with neither dominating. Smooth finish makes this a great session ESB. CaptainCougar (5405), Rockville, Maryland, USA

I bought it at a specialty beer store for almost $9 / six pack. It is very good, but at this price, it better be! Very smooth. theshocker (329), Marietta, Georgia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 21, 2005 Deep amber with a soft head. Smells sweet, malty. Plenty of spicy english hop in the flavor. Finishes smooth, flavor fades quickly into a mildly sour aftertaste. Well-balanced, maybe a touch thin on the malt side. This is a decent beer, BUT this is the last time I’m paying $9+ for a 6-pack of Stoudt. I just don’t don’t think they are as good as their super-premium pricing. beerguy101 (3862), Newark, California, USA
