The Lady pours a gorgeous bronze body and a thick tan cap of head. The aroma and flavor are boldly malty: with its large notes of burned sugars, hint of honey and a herbal blend fading into the background. I’m finding notes of cereal, particularly Kelloggs Frosted Flakes, “They’re GERT!” Definitely some hoppy bitterness in the finish.. with a hint of lemongrass and a slight suggestion of pine. It’s rather earthy and woody… cedar like spiciness. I Absolutely Love this Brewery!

May 29, 2005 12 oz bottle - Pours copper with a slight offwhite head. Aroma was citrus with a strong background of caramel malts. Flavor is very balanced good sweet malts and a slight hop bitter finish that is quite tasty. On the palate this is medium bodied and really hangs with you. Good beer. I like this brewer.

May 1, 2005 Sampled in the 12 ounce bottle. Good imitation of the style. Poured copper with a minimal white head. Aroma was very fruity and had tea as well. Fruity taste which was not overly bitter. I think Stouts did a pretty good job here.

Apr 3, 2005 I catch a hint of fruits and malt in the aroma....very nice. Pours into glass with a tan color and small off white head. The first beer I’ve seen with such a small head.....yet bubbly as you drink. Like the balance in carbonation.
Now to the taste. Gives ya a good little shot of hops and then a small bit of fruit in the end....lemon perhaps. Mouthfeel is fairly crisp...what I would expect from this style.
Stoudt has been a small brewer since 1962, and for good reason. I have not been disappointed with one of their beers yet. Go get one of them.

Mar 27, 2005 A nice copper ale with some floral hops aroma and a slight spiciness. The taste is full and refreshing with som pepper notes.

Mar 23, 2005 03.23.05 12oz bottle dated 05.29.05 Dark copper pour with smallish head that quickly fades. Smells earthy, toffee, vanilla, tea. I smell tea a lot in beer...wonder if that has anything to do with drinking a lot of tea? Mild malts are pushed to stick with floral and sharp hops. Lightly floral all around. It’s a quaffer, but ESB is just not usually a thrill from a bottle.

Mar 23, 2005 A pleasant malty taste up front, followed by a strong bitter bite and finishes with a slightly bitter/malty flavor. Average looking, but beautiful tasting. A good ESB.
