This authentic English-style ale is brewed from the finest imported Marris Otter malt for arich, reddish-copper color and full, malty palate. the generous use of English hops balances the regal, sweet maltiness and imparts a softly perfumed aroma.

Poured a deep amber with a decent head. Good balance of semi-sweet malts and hops. Well made, solid brew.

Pouts a rich amber brown with off white head. Aroma of warm roasted malt and earthy Bready overtones. Taste is smooth yet watered down. Hint of what they are going for without the flavor impact. Close but not there. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma is malts, a hint of hops and is very nutty. The flavor is grainy malts, very nutty and a hoppy finish.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a slightly hazy auburn - a touch of brown with highlights of copper. The head pours thick and soft, and it leaves tons of lace on a pint glass. The aroma is a pleasant mix of fruit, caramel and bready malts, and herbal, perfumy hops - almost spicy.. The flavor starts similarly - a soft, slightly toasted, slightly fruity, bready malt flavor with a touch of herbal English hops. A little bit of dark toast and caramel enters on the sides of the tongue about halfway back. Here also enters a touch more of spicy, dry hops. The finish is well-balanced and somewhat dry with a blend of light, delicate malt with just a drop of earthy hops

Bottle picked up from half time. Lively tan amber hue with two finger slight off white head has great retention. Clean nose with pale malt, light hay, and yeast. Wonderful bread body, toffee and caramel. Balanced with light citrus and flower on the finish. Amazing.

Originally reviewed: 7/4/09. Pours a tawny amber with a decent white head on top. Little retention and some spotty lacing. Smells of toasted malts and caramel. Mouth is bubbly and crisp. Tastes slightly burnt and bitter. Nice crisp bitter hops fade to a toasted sweetness that is pleasant. Not bad. Not my favorite of styles, but a good representation.

Cask version at small real ale festival in Lititz, PA. Attractive amber color, but very weak aroma overall-- didnít get the "perfume" as the brewer describes, but maybe thatís not so bad since Iím not a big perfume fan! Found the initial taste to be extremely mild, and palate to feel almost fizzy. Leaves pretty speckled broken lacing inside glass. Long term taste is a nice, satisfying light bitterness. Wife described her sips as papery-biscuity!

Decent enough ESB. Pours dark amber with almost no head after a few seconds. No lacing. On the nose some metallic and some fruit. In the mouth starts out a good light sweet and then ends with a pretty nice typical ESB bitterness. Medium carbonation and pretty light in the mouth. A solid sessioner.

@ACBF. Pour is clear amber with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet caramel with bready biscuit notes. Flavor is about the same but with some floral hops thrown in. Slightly dry and slightly bitter. Decent ESB.

Sweet, malty aroma with no off notes. Cloudy amber pour (not red). This lady is pretty sweet for a bitter - a fine malty ale with some clean, grassy hop flavor in the finish. Good brew.
