(Bottle) Copper with white head. Spicy, yeasty and bitter nose. Bitter and hoppy flavour but lacking complexity. Smooth yet too fast a finish.

I have not had many ESBs to compare, but this one impressed me with a good flavor, nice aroma, and lack of aftertaste.

12oz Bottle so it's brewed in Frederick, Md. Nice solid bitter. Good bite. Not overly bitter.

UPDATED: JAN 21, 2006 Deep amber with medium sized white head. Malty aroma with slightly acrid floral leanings. Light hop bite, tempered by a sweetish maltiness whoch rules throughout. A light yeasty nuttiness emerges at end of swallow and hangs around in aftertaste.

3/22/03: bottle. radiant orange body. floral nose with some hops. sweet caramel malt flavor. slightly bitter from the hops, but not as bitter as expected. fruity finish. love the art nouveau style label as well.

orange with light white head. Aroma is rediculously hoppy- very floraly and flowery- very different from any other beer. Still has some nice background malt for balance.

(Brewed by Frederick Brewing) The palate is very malty and mildly fruity. Hops are present, but subdued. Although, I find this beer to be well made it could use a slightly higher dose of bittering hops.

Definitely an ESB. Not bitter enough to be an IPA. Cloudy reddish brown with white head, constant stream of bubbles. Thin mouth feel and little spritz typical of Fullers ESB. Taste of malt and floral hop, but not as bitter as I had hoped for. Easy to drink, but not especially complex. Thin sour brown ale, ESB malt, a little floral hop. I prefer a stronger hopppyness, and a more pronounced bitter finish.

Great beer, but more of an IPA than an ESP. Smooth hoppy palate with a very hoppy aftertaste.

Best by April 2003. Nice off-white rocky head with an odd waxiness (residual oiliness from too long a boil after dry-hopping?) and big fat malty profile. If the waxy appearance of the head was from dry hopping, not much hop character. Overall, a pleasant experience.
