I admire this brewery, but in a head to head with Avery Redpoint, this loses big. None of the tempering hoppiness: just big, sweet malt missing floral or citric notes for relief. Interested to try their new unpasteurized version.

Pours a slightly clouded ruby brown with a lighter tan head. Nose is hopped and slightly cherry sweet, with a stronger overall sugary tone to it. Flavor is lacking. Seems to be a bit too traditional, but it falls off way too fast. Almost tastes like semi stale pretzels...or just pretzels in general. There is an overall bitter tone to it, but I just think it lacks. Feel is nice with a decent carbonation. Drinkable, yes. Isn’t horrid, but it’s definitely not the best ESB you’ve ever had.

Pours clear copper color with off white head. Bready aroma with floral hops. Sweet maltiness and caramel with mild hop bitterness. Medium body with mild carbonation.

Pour a hazy reddish color with small head lace. Malty aroma with some hops thrown in. Very well balanced flavor. Quite a good esb.

Hazy copper color with a small off white head , mild hop flowery and caremel malt aroma. Caremel malty flavor with a nice mild hop bitterness, medium body with a creamy soft mouthfeel, fishes with a very dry bitterness, not a bad ESB, IMHO not the best, still drinkable.

Pretty good beer. A little bit of a sweet flavor which I liked. Haven’t had too many ESB’s so I can’t really compare it to anything, but it hit the spot. Looking forward to taking a trip to Stoudt’s one of these days.

(Bottle). Very nice and drinkable. Malty aroma. Copper color with small off white head. Relatively mild flavor, but with some malt sweetness and a slight hops bite.

Beautifully bright copper color, sweet hoppy nose. Creamy head and taste, delicious session beer. Medium bitter finish. Good stuff.
