Commercial Description:
This authentic English-style ale is brewed from the finest imported Marris Otter malt for arich, reddish-copper color and full, malty palate. the generous use of English hops balances the regal, sweet maltiness and imparts a softly perfumed aroma.

Crystal malt aroma with some hops at the end. Clear amber color, great head retention and lacing. Crystal malt flavor dominates the hop bitterness and flavor a little too much. I would like to see more hop flavor to balance the crytsal malt. Not the best ESB I've had but still fairly good. I have had this in the bottle before and it was more balanced.

Bottle - Pours a darkish amber in color with a small off-white head that faded to a thin covering over the beer. Aroma is malty and slightly sweet with a hint of flowery hops. Flavor is well balanced, but definitely finishes with a lingering hop bitterness. Easy drinking... not bad, but average...

On draft. Pours brown white a small white head. Malty aroma. Dry cardboard like taste. Malt is more up front than the hops making this beer not that bitter. I was kind of upset with this one, I have liked all the other Stoudts I have sampled.

not a bad bitter at all. Malt and hops are prevalent in the nose and in the taste. The bitter turns into sweet in the finish. pretty good!

Bottle (12oz). Shared with blankboy, his bottle via trade with Thaichile. Clear bright deep amber with a decent off-white rocky head. Dry aroma of floral hops, mild toasted malt, a little grassy. Flavour of light malt, mild UK hops, some tart fruit and yeast - it has an overtone of tea which makes the quick finish lightly bitter after a sweetish start. Mouthfeel is lightly tea leaf bitter, mildly astringent and juicy, some carbonation - very quaffable and mild, not quite up to "real" English ESB standards, but drinkable and a good effort.

on tap at North 3rd bar in Northern Liberties neighborhood in Philly. deep amber body with a frothy tan head and streaks of more neon scarlet. smells sweet and fruity. definetely strawberries, sweet malts, caramel. tastes of toasted and sweet malts, some very light bitterness, florals, pine. really very good.

Poured a reddish amber color with an off white head. Aroma was nice and malty, but balanced by the floral hops. Flavor was a lot more bitter from the hops than most esb’s but in a good way. This one is prety enjoyable.
