Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks zvikar. Hazy amber. Aroma of malt, caramel, light fruitiness, cardboard notes and floral and earthy hints. Flavor has some sweetish malt, a bit caramelly and a bit biscuity, finishes bitter and hoppy with some earthy hops. Medium-bodied. OK,
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 ryanscourt (278) - Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 17, 2013
Very good and boring. Nice malt flavor with some fruits. Finishes nicely in the bitter style with some slight hop flavor left on the mouth. Beer has a lot of nice subtle flavors. Not too exciting of a style but this beer has enjoyable complexities.

Stoudt’s Scarlet Lady ESB has a thin, off-white head, some sheen of lacing left on the glass, and a brilliant, bubbly, off-white head. The aroma is of brown bread crust and dank fruit. Taste is of brown bread crust, some sugar, a little bitterness, and tannin. The mouthfeel is light to medium, and Stoudt’s Scarlet Lady ESB finishes dry, refreshing, and highly drinkable. The tannin aspect holds it back a bit, but it’s still very good and worth checking out. RJT
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 bluejacket74 (997) - Reynoldsburg, Ohio, USA - JAN 18, 2013
12 ounce bottle. Served in a Sam Adams Perfect Pint glass, the beer pours a slightly hazy reddish/amber color with a half inch off-white head that stayed around for a little while. There’s also a good amount of lacing. The brew smells like tart apples, herbal/floral hops and some caramel malt. It tastes like herbal/floral hops, toasted and bready malt, tart apples, and some nuts and tea. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s a bit slick with moderate carbonation. I think it’s a solid beer, it’s definitely worth a try.
