3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 minch25 (550) - Medford, Massachusetts, USA - MAY 17, 2009
Clear strawberry blond, fluffy collapsing beige head.
Aroma - yeast, fruit esters, banana, mango lassi.
Flavor - sweet, alcoholic center, peach. Moderately effervescent. A more or less authentic and passable belgian tripel, but I’m not so big on the style these days, and this in particular is too alcoholic and sweet for my tastes.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Changed (234) - Ithaca, New York, USA - MAY 1, 2009
12 oz bottle. Absolutely love the pour. Hazy, murky pineapple yellow, big fluffy white head, large floaties, lots of lacing. Aroma is of typical Belgium, but a bit scaled back- something I really appreciate. The carbonation isn’t that of German seltzer water either- another appreciated change-up from a Belgian Belgium. Zing of a mouth-feel; fruity and slightly spiced towards the end. Perfect carbonation ending, rather smooth, slight alcohol shines through- warming as it goes down. Dare I say it: this is my favorite abbey Tripel: Belgian or not!

Everything about this one reeks of just above average. I love the label, and the effort just let me down somewhat. I would try it again but only with friends.

Pretty good triple. Nice aromas and flavors that are typical for a Belgium style triple. Overall a nice beer.

Bottle - Pours a hazy orangish amber in color with a small white head that fades to a very thin covering over the beer. No lacing. Aroma is strong of Belgian yeast, spices (cloves, nutmeg) and a light fruitiness. Flavor is very fruity... apples, melon... and slightly sweet. Alcohol is apparent, but muted by the intense fruity flavors and maltiness. Finish is slightly bitter and lingering. I am impressed... a quite decent tripel. This is the first of Stoudt’s for me and I look forward to more from this brewer.

Pours a yellow-gold with a one finger white head. Aroma is yeast, spices, some apple. Taste is lots of spice up front, with a sour fruit finish.
