| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 10, 2008 Bottle->tulip glass. Pours a small, creamy, but diminishing head atop of a cloudy, light amber body. Aroma yields caramel, bread, perhaps even some mealishness. Hops are perfume and the yeast is a bit doughy on the nose. The flavor’s duration is average, lightly sweet, acidic, and bitter. On the palate, the body is medium with an alcoholic texture, lively carbonation with an astringent finish.
Not a bad beer, but lackluster compared to other triples. dmac (1442), Toms River, New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 29, 2008 12 oz bottle purchased at Oak Tree, hi Dan and Jay. Poured a hazy brownish/orange with a large soapy white head that rapidly disipates and leaves no lacing, bummer. Nice aroma with lots of candied sugar, green apples, toast and yeast notes. Medium to full bodied with a smooth finish and average carbonation. Fruity flavor with notes of apple, brown sugar, yeast and dry toast. I served this one a bit to cold, God Damn well functioning refrigerator, but was a great take on an Abe Tripel. Goodgrief (1149), Middletown, Delaware, USA
