beachbum25 (778), Powellville, Maryland, USA Oct 28, 2007 12 oz bottle-poured a cloudy golden color w/a moderate bubbly white head. Good, sweet, Belgian aroma. Classic Belgian flavors, bread dough, cane sugar, banana, & spice. Rich full mouthfeel. Good example of this style, particularly for an American Brewer, who often seem to have trouble w/this style. Alcohol was well hidden. ScottB (73), Bristow, Virginia, USA Oct 19, 2007 Trappist glass. Thin head dissipated quickly. Very little lace. Deep hazy gold in color. Nose of bread, yeast, fruit. Spicy flavor, with a warm finish. I really like this one. cbkschubert (1945), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA Oct 12, 2007 12 oz. bottle via trade with jasonmech77 - Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a one and a half finger thick white head. Nice lacing. Aroma is yeast, bread, esters (banana), and light spice. Flavor is fruity with an almost cloying malt sweetness and a touch of alcohol. Medium body. A good beer. Thanks Jason. pumpmaster (474), Pembroke Pines, Florida, USA Oct 6, 2007 12 ounce bottle purchased at Total Wine Fort Lauderdale, FL $2.79 Very good! tronraner (1906), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Oct 5, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Pours copper, a few shades darker than I was expecting for the style, with a thin beige head. The aroma is pear, peppercorn, some berries, honey, alcohol, and caramel. Flavor is a bit caramelly (again not what I would expect from the style) with some sharp carbonation. There are woody and malty notes throughout. Yeasty banana notes come out in the finish. Decent Belgian-style ale. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA Sep 29, 2007 Pours a slight clouded gold. Nose is extremely doughy. Flavor is heavy with dough. There is the sweet tone as well that is not really overly strong. It is bit boisterous and bright, but it is very even and never changes as it progresses. Feel is thick and doughy on the tongue. Overall a pretty good example of a tripel I say. Especially for an American producer.
NJBeerman013 (768), Trenton, New Jersey, USA Sep 15, 2007 750 ml. bottle - Pours an orangish golden in color, with a huge fluffy head. This brew starts out extremely malty and sweet almost cloying. Some of the spice starts to make an appearance toward the middle and finish. Overall, not a bad tripel, but not my favorite. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA Sep 3, 2007 Pale to Cloudy Amber Color with White Skin. Cloves, Spices, Fruit and a Magic Marker Alcohol Aroma. Medium Bodied. Smooth, Sweet and Dry Mouthfeel. Alot of Fruit and Spices Notes Througout, Cloves Dominating the Flavor Profile,...with Yeasty Breadiness and a Solid Warming Througout. Dry, Sweet Spice Burning on the Aftertaste. Nice Offering.
