Bottle. Appearance: Hazy gold with an off white head. Aroma: Sweet and fruity, melon, slight estery smell. Palate: Medium. Flavor: Very sweet. Peach, melon, a bit of citrus. Clove and spice as well. My tongue tastes no hint of the alcohol I smelled earlier. Overall: Really a good beer. I love the three little dudes on the bottle.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 holdenn (1841) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 4, 2008
Sampled blind at "Better Know a Style: Abbey Tripel". How many ways can you write tripel? Triple, Trippel, Tripel. Tripple? No, that’s way to crazy. It looks like just three ways, triple ways. Well what a long tasting. Here’s the last one. Clear amber orange pour with a white head. Aroma of vanilla, caramels, grain, toffee, and clove. Flavors are grain, toffee, sweet alcohol, red fruits, citrus fruits, aged notes. Too sweet and too alcy. That seems to be a theme here.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Speedle (266) - Mid-Atlantic (Tour 2007-2008), Virginia, USA - JAN 2, 2008
light cloudy dark yellow pour...small head...aroma of cloves and yeast...hits the roof of the mouth and back of tongue on the 1st sip....sharp and bubbly...strong spicy taste with a lingering overripe orange finish...sweetness hangs in there for a while ....the aftertaste is a little too sweet for me ... overall drinkability is OK
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Thprovider (24) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - DEC 31, 2007
Kind of an unusual triple. Poured a murky orange with white head that quickly dissipated. Nutty aroma with taste of yeast, orange and clove. Easy to drink, but a muddled effort overall.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 drewbeerme (3262) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 30, 2007

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 17/20 Frauditor (159) - Hagerstown, Maryland, USA - DEC 24, 2007
bottle 12 oz. pours golden rod faded by the sun. light foam thin lacing and palate. first smell is overwhelmingly peanut butter. the clove and spice almost distract from the alcoholic warmth that caresses your shoulders the further you sip. And sip you must as the abbey massage can quickly turn into a heavyweight fistfight for which you were highly unprepared.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 craftbeerdesign (1831) - Alpharetta, Georgia, USA - DEC 17, 2007
bottle. pours a deep golden with little head. aromas of spices and fruits. medium and spicy body. Flows over the palate with a nice spice and warming quality. Very smooth and well balanced tripel... a bit different from the Belgian Tripels I’ve had in the past... this one is more Americanized, which I like. Very very good - I want more.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 malrubius (1308) - Valley Stream, New York, USA - DEC 15, 2007
Rating #200. 12 ounce bottle in Westmalle glass. Hazy golden orange with flat white head. Candy sugar, alcohol, and fruit (peach, apricot) aroma. Mild honey sweetness, very fruity, mild tobacco bitterness, candy sugar alcohol finish. Medium-full body, medium carbo. Particularly fresh, bottled 11/08/07. Might be better aged a few months. A decent triple but not one of the best.
